One of the most incredible meals I've ever had. The halibut and miso is absolute perfection. Each wine is a perfect pairing and changes flavour wonderfully with each course.

great eating even better staff. our waitress was very friendly and funny and the staff was very informed about eating and the wine. 12 courses later we were very happy. we're coming back.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had, worth every penny. Wonderful environment, brilliant service, adapted for my food allergy and more like an experience than a meal. Will be thinking about the smoked monkfish and burrata for years to come. Cannot recommend enough, will make your visit to Ambleside very memorable.

My fiancee and I had the best meal of our lives at Lake Road Kitchen. The service, food, and atmosphere were impeccable. The intimate dining room and open kitchen really lends the feeling that you're having dinner in someone's home, and the care for detail gives the meal a truly personal feel. I recommend Lake Road Kitchen without reservation.

Returned again and absolutely no drop off in standards of either quality of cooking or service here. We go to lots of fine dining restaurants which includes restaurants with up to 3 stars. Often the food is impressive, but is sometimes impressive for its own sake. The Lake Road Kitchen goes for fine dining that has a comfort food vibe from around the world. A congee with beef reminded me of Taiwanese beef stew, and the popcorn chicken was Korean/Japanese with a little delicious spice. Setting A small, intimate restaurant with a friendly, semi formal setting. The staff a welcoming and professional. Food We had the 8 course set menu. Highlights were: the homemade sourdough bread, steamed halibut, pork with apple, and the blackberry dessert. Some of the portion sizes were bordering on microscopic, and although creative, I found some of the ingredient combinations unusual at best and odd for example pine nuts with pickled mushrooms.
