Lovely location, decor staff. Let down by a terribly slow service such that we would probably not return again for a second visit.

herr roberts on the green a jewel. we discovered this jewel of a place randomly during a walk in the neighboring. it serves large coffee, cake, scorp and lunch. the service is friendly and fast. the ambiente is typically British and picturesque. this old building was a post office until recently. an old oil painting by Lord roberts hangs on the wall through the cake. I wish they would serve wein! the young couples who own this jewel are so beautiful and warm. give this place a shot; they will just love it.

This is a mixed review of the restaurant. On the positive side, they offer vegan options which is great considering the limited choices in the area. I will definitely come back to support this initiative. The owner personally checked in with each table to see how things were going and the table service was friendly. The outdoor environment was pleasant as well. However, I was disappointed to find out that they were unable to make the vegan cake I wanted because their vegan cook was on vacation. They did offer a gluten-free option instead, but it would be helpful if the staff had a better understanding of vegan diets to avoid such situations. We had a variety of vegan cake options to choose from this afternoon. Some of the choices included a drip butter and chocolate layer cake, lemon cake, a fruitcake with coconut cream, vegan scones with currants (also available with vegan cream), vegan banana bread, and some small pastries. Additionally, we had the choice of soy, almond, or coconut milk in our coffee or tea. I particularly enjoyed the peanut butter chocolate cake, which had a delicious sponge and flavor. I highly recommend it. The lemon cake was also very good. The staff was friendly, and the cozy café where the vegan cakes were baked was beautiful.
