"We went to the restaurant for an early dinner on a weekday evening. It was quite busy but not completely full, and the service was quick. We ordered starters and mains, except for one friend who chose a starter as their main, which the waiter happily accommodated. The starters were decent, and the mussels were particularly good value with a nice sauce. However, both my wife and I were disappointed with the special pork loin dish we ordered for our mains. The meat was tough and difficult to eat, leading my wife to give up after a few bites. When she mentioned this to the waiter, he simply laughed and walked away. When it came time to pay, my wife mentioned again that she couldn't eat the pork due to its toughness, and the server apologized but offered no further resolution. Overall, we were not satisfied with the customer service and feel that in such situations, it's best to insist on a change in the food immediately."

Charming little restaurant. Our group of accordion players had a great time here. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be returning.

Hi. I thought the food was good and the atmosphere was also good. BUT. We both ordered a large glass of wine. Our wine came back in a smallish glass of wine. Certainly not a large one!! I felt ripped off!

Found this place by accident, we were just wandering around Edinburgh for the day. The staff were excellent, very polite and friendly My wife had minestrone soup as a starter(said it was as good as mine,so MUST have been rather good

Food was delicious. Incredibly good value lunch menu £12.95 for 2 courses or £14.95 for 3 courses), and even better as we had an itison voucher. The waiter was lovely and attentive without intruding, nothing was a bother to him. Will definitely be back.

Gone downhill dramatically. Food very poor quality and service chaotic. Been going here for few years but in last few months food quality has gone downhill. New chef? Or just poor quality ingredients. Service is chaotic. Need more staff and friendly ones. Guy’s grumpy but lady friendly

We went to celebrate my wife's birthday, the food was delicious! We had scallops and bruschetta with tomato as a starter and seafood linguine and porcini risotto as main, a white wine with our mains. The staff surprised us with pannacotta and candle for the special occasion. Thanks so much, we had a nice evening!

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
