"Favourite Chinese restaurant in the area and the only one with a sit in restaurant ! Never had a takeaway as we like to sit in whenever we book the owner is quick and efficent on the phone when we book our table which i like, seated promptly and given time to browse the menu, always go for salt pepper chicken 2 portions as we really like it the meat spring rolls are very good, chicken satay is also very good not too peanutty which i like, always try to choose a different main but never had a main i didnt like , usually atleast one of us will get a sizzling dish which causes everyone to turn round to see what we have, drink selection is good. While decor is a little simple its clean and feels airy in the restaurant, usually the owner will be there at front of house but sometimes it will be an older lady who is just as nice and efficent when settling the bill."

"Returned to this pub this summer as my wife enjoyed the beer-battered fish last time around. We'd not received particularly good service on that day as the owner wasn't at all welcoming and seemed to be in a mood, but thought we'd give them another chance. Unfortunately, this experience was even worse. We were a group of four but we asked to be sat near the window which had been set up as a table for six as the latter was much brighter and less cramped. We were told that we couldn't move tables in case a a group of six arrived. This would not usually be a strange or irrational reason for rejection, however, the pub was practically empty (one other table, I believe) and the table of four that we were on could have been easily turned into a table for six if needed for another group. Unsurprisingly, no other customers arrived during the whole visit and quite why we were refused such a simple request was a mystery. During the meal, we were not asked once if the food was ok, and we were not asked if we would like to see the dessert menu either. The childrens' meals were really poor in terms of both quality and quantity, as well. Overall, a very disappointing visit. A more welcoming attitude from the owner and a bit of common sense would have gone a long way."

"I recently dined at this restaurant for dinner and had an amazing experience. The price per person ranged from £10–20, which I found to be quite reasonable for the quality of food and service provided. I would give both the food and service a rating of 5 out of 5. The recommended dishes, Fish Chips and Mushy Peas, as well as the Sausage, were delicious and I would definitely order them again. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, although I would rate it a 3 out of 5. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant for a great dining experience."

"huge thanks to caroline for attaching a beautiful meal for mike's birthday! the table had been decorated with balloons and banners (not requested, but the little extra given to make it special). eating was wonderful as the friendly service and another special note for dessert when it was written with a candle and 'happy birthday mike ' beautiful in chocolate on the teller! 19 of us enjoyed every minute and would highly recommend for a special occasion or just a nice quiet meal out. first thanks!"

"We arrived at opening time and as the main item on sale for lunch is pasties we hoped that the full choice as per the menu would be available to purchase, but rather oddly were told that a member of staff had gone across the water a few seconds journey it appeared to get stock and we could either have the two choices available or wait for the rest for as long as it took basically. Well we got a little fed up with waiting so eventually chose one of the options that were available. It might be a good idea to replenish stock prior to opening time at 12 midday not while customers are actually standing waiting to order and pay! Once microwaved (presumably, as we heard a ping) the pasties were then handed to us in paper bags and were far too hot to eat. I asked for a knife to cut them in half so they could cool down a little before we could eat them. However, once they were cool enough to eat we found them to be delicious. As one of my party commented, it would surely be easier for the cafe to provide plates which could be washed up, rather than have to clear up all the crumbs that eating from a paper bag made. The decor was nice, the staff pleasant, the setting lovely, the pasties very enjoyable, just the above points stop me from giving it 5 stars."
