We went there for a casual lunch today not having been there for 10 years, having moved away, and had a truly pleasurable experience, service, atmosphere and homemade food all were excellent. I said to Paul, the landlord, that it reminded me of how pubs used to but be. Warm welcome and superb meal as always. Paul and Sam make a dream Team serving delicious and appetising meals with a well stocked bar to compliment. We have never been disappointed. Last year, we had a celebration meal where over 30 people were all served a Sunday Roast and dessert of the same exceptional standard. Such a shame that some have felt the need to intentionally damage the reputation of this delightful pub where so much effort is made to please their customers.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this place, but it turned out to be a proper old-style pub with a dark atmosphere and that familiar pub smell. The landlord greeted us warmly and made us feel at home. We all sat at a table and placed our drink orders, with a good selection available. We had pre-ordered food for our large party, with the chef impressing us with delicious dishes that were well worth the price. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. Overall, the price per person was £100+ and both the food and service were rated a 5, while the atmosphere was a 3.
