North Star - Speisekarte

I went for the Sunday lunch 3-course menu and found that there were plenty of good choices available. All the courses were excellent and served steaming hot. If we wanted more vegetables or anything else, the staff were happy to provide. My four dining guests and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal and would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to friends and family as a great place to eat.

Took my elderly mother, and my wife, for lunch. We were greeted warmly by friendly staff, seated and served drinks. The menu selection was very good and they cater for older people with a smaller portion selection (still a good size). Food came very quickly, was very hot and beautifully cooked. Prices comparable with similar restaurants, certainly very good value. Will definitely return and really recommend the North Star.

Took friends from Scotland for Sunday lunch and although service was very good the food presented was very poor! The fish and Scampi were tasteless, the vegetables consisted of frozen chips, watery mashed potatoes, carrot, peas and shredded white cabbage all of which had any flavour extracted in the cooking. Unfortunately, we couldn't bring ourselves to complain at the time for fear of embarrassing our guests. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

We came Tuesday night for my sister's bday. Very warm welcome and cozy atmosphere. Our table had been cutely decorated with ribbons. My prawn cocktail and homemade pie were beautiful. The waitresses and chef were gems with our friend who is gluten free and very picky. Sweets came on a trolley which all looked delicious. The waitresses later came with a birthday ice cream and sang happy birthday. Overall just a fabulous experience. We will be back

We had previously visited this restaurant for dinner and were very satisfied, so we decided to stop by for a light lunch on a windy Thursday in November. Despite our expectations of it being quiet, the restaurant was nearly full. Luckily, they were able to accommodate the two of us. It's no wonder this place is so popular. We opted for sandwiches, and were impressed by the generously filled hot turkey sandwiches that came with stuffing, sausage and bacon rolls, cranberry sauce, coleslaw, and a salad garnish. The food was very tasty and surprisingly great value. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, making the whole experience perfect.

We went here as The Viking (down the road) don't server food after 7:30pm when they have live music on. That was somewhat fortuitous as The North Star was fantastic in every respect and we will definitely return. The waiting staff were fantastic and the lady serving us took our coats and hung them up, can't ever recall that happening to me! She also told me off for not using cutlery from the outside in (all very good natured). The food did not disappoint either, all four of us enjoying three courses. Highlight for me were the venison and black pudding sausages with stilton sauce, beautiful. Others also liked the T-bone steak, the lamb shank and roulade. I can't wait to go back!

This restaurant is absolutely amazing, thanks to the incredibly friendly staff. It is located near North Landings beach, offering beautiful walks along the coast and to Brid. Both breakfast and dinner were exceptional, especially considering our unique dietary requirements. I am gluten-free and my wife has a cow's milk intolerance, but the staff went above and beyond to cater to us. Room 1 was fantastic, with spacious accommodations and stunning views of the sea and lighthouse. Overall, a wonderful restaurant with friendly staff and a great location. Just be mindful of parking in front of the kitchen windows, as it is a favorite spot for local herring gulls to perch and leave their mark.

We were staying in Filey and struggling to find somewhere to eat when I recalled The North Star where I had been with my parents decades before. It was a long drive but well worth it. It was a step back in time.Attentive smartly dressed staff who had the time to chat. I do like a proper pie and after an assurance it was a proper pie I ordered one. WOW! It was £3 or £4 less than I was expecting to pay in Filey and a huge slab of proper steak pie. Not only that it was served with chips, new potatoes, battered parsnips, carrots and peas. The North Star provides what I would call a retro dining experience. It was a bit of a throwback to years gone by with the all-female serving staff wearing identical blouses and skirts. The service was very professional and the tables were not squeezed together. I got the impression that the venue is popular with older locals going out for special meals. Most people still dress up a little to go there. The food was all right without being scintillating. At some expense I ordered a Flamborough crab cocktail as my starter but it was so smothered in marie-rose sauce that I could hardly taste the crab.
