Great food at a great price, very friendly and enjoyed our visit thanks, where here June 2018 for your wedding anniversary

Two day old lasagne and microwaved cheesy chips. Restaurant dated and carpet filthy. Small portions although I would eat anywhere near what I was served anyway.

Visited a couple of times on Sundays and the food is very good. The carvery is excellent and there is plenty of choices. Haven't managed a desert yet but hopefully will soon. Speisekarte ansehen

Very welcoming staff. Nice restaurant and great carvery. Always plenty to eat and fresh not frozen! Relaxed atmosphere with choice of snug area or pool table a d darts board.

We happened on this small pub whilst visiting Devon in August. It would be hard to imagine a more British pub. Housed in a turn of the century building near the river, it exemplifies everything good about a pub. Friendly and helpful staff, a huge array of beers, and all the quintessential dishes from fish chips and cottage pie to yorkshire pudding. If you are in Tavistock you can join the locals here for a pint and some gossip. Great place.

Hands down the best Sunday roast I’ve had in a long time. Food was absolutely on point and at a price that is unarguably unbeatable. Brisket beef was to die for, roast potatoes and veg in abundance, cauliflower cheese was so tasty… went for the small plate, glad I did, a feast, you really need to be a big eater to go for the large! Trust me you will not be disappointed. I am guessing the Market Inn is family run, I say this because I found the atmosphere very welcoming and friendly, staff were great and happy to chat. Upon arrival, the bartender appeared surprised to see us as she was unaware of our booking. After returning when the rooms were ready, we were a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the bedding, which was very wrinkled. The pillows were flat and there were no hand towels or water glasses provided. The hosts did not welcome us during our entire stay. The noise from patrons smoking outside under our windows was bothersome, lasting until 1:30 am on Friday night. We had to ask them to move away from the window due to the loudness. Visited the Old Market Inn Holsworthy on Sunday evening 18th August , first impressions were ok we ordered a drink and pondered over the menu , deciding to stay and eat, we asked the restraunt staff if they could fit us in for a table of two but explained our time was limited and we would need to leave within 1.1/2 hrs the young waitress said it would not be a problem and took our order . Had dinner here just stopping through on our way home from our holiday on Friday 23rd August. We rang in advance to make sure that there were tables, but were told that they weren’t busy and we could just turn up. We came in through the back from the car park which goes straight into the restaurant area, where it was completely empty. Husband immediately said “shall we go somewhere else?” Pointing out the utterly filthy carpet in the restaurant but as it was late and we had 3 tired and hungry children with us we decided to just stay put and hope for the best.
