Pera - Turkish Mangal & Meze Bar

Wonderful authentic Turkish food. Quirky little place with great atmosphere. Great service and chef is Turkish. Unlicensed so don't forget to take your tippel with you. Well worth a visit!!!

I tasted some nights ago with some friends the delicious food in this restaurant. quiet atmosphere, really nice eating and very good service. chef stepped out to personally ask how everything was. very recommended! Lamb tasted amazing.

Been there more than 5 times in the past 4 years and the food has always been consistently excellent. We've always went for the banquet which is great to share between groups of 3-4 people. The owner and the stuff are also super friendly and their service is very attentive which is a big plus. Would recommend it 100%!

We were lucky to get a table around 7pm as was busy. Table was for two of us at the back and was very cosy. Good atmosphere in this snug restaurant. Service by a young lady was excellent and the chef superb. Food was amazing... We went for Sultan's platter ... Think I needed a wheelbarrow to go home.. stuffed! Nothing left on the plate... Delicious

far too crampy, they should be at a bigger place, the personal was unstoppable and the manager/owner was rude, rude and brash. I don't know (although I don't believe) if that's my wrong interpretation of Turkish culture, but I came away, felt very mistreated. in such a place, eating must be amazing. here it was mediocre soggy, and our were on the theke for much too long before they were even brought to us. will not come back, strongly recommend them not go.

Friendly little place tucked away at the top of the bustle of Leith Walk, which I was intrigued by after reading about it in The Sunday Times. Having just recently tried Turkish coffee for the first time too I wanted to venture there for breakfast and a caffeine hit and went on a sunny Saturday morning (they're only open for breakfast at the weekend). Though the decor doesn't quite transport you to Istanbul the beautiful, traditional coffee cups and Turkish trivets get you a little closer. After we had not returned long from the turkey we have blessed for some good Turkish bites. we missed the fresh and brownish salads, their tender, carnivorous kebabs, their all-too-sugary desserts. and so, led by our moats, we drove to pera. although very centrally located, near the edinburgher entertainment center, the omni centre, they can easily walk through pera and think little. pera is small and incapable, with a caffe (statt restaurant) feel. on the way through the attack course of chairs and tables we have crushed ourselves into our seats. the room was beautifully decorated, with Turkish laternen hanging from the deck, and a buzz from the other mozens, although it probably is not the...

It was our very first time dinning here and we'll definitely come back! The restaurant is very small and that make it very special, also de decoration is beautiful. The service is amazing, our waitress was fantastic, very charismatic and charming! The food is delicious, we tried the sharing plate for two which is only for £39. The meet, ribs and chicken cooked perfectly, the salad is very tasty and rice delicious! You can bring your own alcohol (they charge a little bit, depending if it's beers or a bottle of wine). I recommend it 100% if you like meat and also if you don't, because they have vegetarian options. Don't forget to bring some cash for tip out, because is not possible to leave it...

Situated very close to elm row, Pera is finally visited. Decorated with the combination of white and blue colours, Pera give you the Turkish food sensation. What I tried is the halloumi sucuk (fried halloumi with beef sausage). It is a alright starter. What I particular like is their kuzu kanurga or lamb ribs. I am cautious with the smell of lamb but this ribs is as they claimed is very tender and succulent. I couldn’t recognize the lamb smell at all which is very impressive for me. Dipping with yogurt or the salad which is quite similar with Thai spicy salad also adds complex flavors. The staff is very polite and informative.
