Pomona Cafe - Speisekarte

Lovely, friendly cafe serving good coffee and our favourite hot dogs with all the trimming. We felt very welcome by the team. Thank you.

Good value. Bacon roll had a good helping of bacon. We had a scone, bacon roll, tea and a hot chocolate for under £11.00. Staff member was friendly and helpful.

Was in Kirkwall collecting my BRP documents, when I decided to stop into the Cafe for breakfast. Very friendly staff, affordable pricing, and tasty food. Definitely a lovely local cafe. Speisekarte ansehen

Amazing friendly service, hard to find these days. The homemade baking is wonderful, had cream cookies and muffins the best. Soup of the day was so tasty also. A huge menu and fantastic value with it. Clearly a bit of a hub for the locals to chat too.

Instant coffee was decent make and cake was tastly very cheap both came at under £4 lady behind counter was friendly too. I was shocked to see woman in cafe with her cat ? It was happy on her lap i have seen this a few times in orkney and always surprises me

We stopped in here for lunch it was a bit of a time warp but the service was speedy and efficient with great pie and chips and cheese toastie. Locals were friendly as well. Good value for money and nice to support local shops rather than the 'Costa/Starbucks ' offerings. Speisekarte ansehen

Recently in Kirkwall and was looking for somewhere with some character for coffee and cake. This cafe from the outside looked as if it fitted the bill. However, although we did have coffee/tea and cake we felt that the lady behind the counter was rather unwelcoming and not very friendly. A cheery smile would have been nice. Would not return.

Ordered two cups of coffee, given the choice of “instant or bean”. Chose bean, but I didn’t realise that meant that just one bean would be shared between the two of us. Got served two mugs of hot milk, for want of a better word. We took one sip each and returned the drinks to the counter. The better part of £7 wasted, I’d sooner have donated it to charity.

The most unhelpful woman I’ve ever come across!! I placed an order and she refused to take the drinks order until I told her what food we wanted. I ordered a roll and chips and when the food came, I got a plate of chips, no roll. She put the pots of tea on a tray but the milk and sugar were on a tray at the counter. I asked her if I could take the tray to my elderly parents and she said yes. I returned with the tray and she said to my brother who was still at the counter “well you won’t be needing this then!!” As she started to pour a jug of milk.
