I have tried Poppies in Lindon and now back again at Camden Town. I think it is the best in London for authentic Fish and ships. Even staff is amazing with their new costumes

What a great find. Tucked away down a side road off Camden high street, we found Poppies. Just what we needed a sit down Fish and Chip restaurant. Service was great, food was delicious and the bar was well stocked and offered everything you need....Also really good value . Thanks and well done to all the staff.

This isn’t the best place in London. Taste is decent though. Portions are so small and child sized. Would be nice to get your money’s worth. I understand your rent and rates might be high but tiny portions won’t bring people coming back again. Went...there times and will sadly avoid as I’m still hungry after spending about on your mini portions. I could be stuffed full if I went down from you and spent about max.

Hi there. I tried to reach out to your team directly but couldn’t find an email. Ive ordered Poppies before (only occasionally, as it is quite expensive, but I feel like it’s great quality, so it’s a treat), and have had nothing but good experiences...with the food. Today I ordered a cod and chips, costing and received the piece in the photo. I am from London, so I know that everything here is expensive, and that obviously you have to cover expensive London rent etc., but honestly this is a very very small portion for the price I paid. I put my (honestly quite small) hand in for reference.

My daughter came down to visit me yesterday in London and expressed that she’d like to visit Camden Market, we arrived in Camden around pm and I was on the lookout for a general pub/restaurant for some lunch. Yesterday in London was very busy,...I think a few local football matches were on but anyhow I spotted Poppies next to two very busy pubs, I must say we were lucky, the ground floor was full, so we were taken to a rather quiet first floor, the decor was very but really interesting. Called in for lunch while visiting here with my daughter’s new in-laws from America. This was an early visit prior to going shopping and we were the first people in the restaurant. We had told them how good it is here and it didn’t disappoint. Food and service was perfect, as we were talking to the manager we Explained that our daughter only got married last week and we were showing her new family around London. Upon hearing this a plate was brought out with, pickled egg, Gurkin and pickled onion etc for them to try which was so kind. Out of whole bunch of fish listed, had only cod, haddock and plaice at on saturday! At the counter were women. One seemed to actually care about her job, the other one seemed like a spoilt child that was forced to work...by her parents. I am not quite sure how exactly can somebody fail such a simple meal but... They managed it. They truly have. My girlfriend wanted some fish and chips after a walk down the canal and she said she had never tried this place. We had haddocks.
