"We came here for our wedding anniversary as was just a few doors down from the guest house we were staying at. We were running a little late so gave them a quick call to let them know and they were totally fine with holding our table. We got a window table which looked out to the harbour which was lovely. They also gave us an anniversary card which was a nice touch. We ordered a starter and main. I had a duck pate with gluten free toast (which they were very accommodating to do). Was very tasty. Can't remember what starter my husband had but he really enjoyed it. For our main I had cannon lamb. The lamb was perfect. My husband had a fish curry which he really enjoyed. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Definitely worth a visit."

Had a lovely evening at the Quayside restaurant. Excellent menu, I chose from the seafood dishes as we were in Brixham, my wife went for non seafood and all our dishes were excellent. The service was warm and attentive nothing was too much trouble . Thank you and we will return.

Lovely meal for our group. I especially liked the crab starter. Toby and Debbie looked after us very well. An unexpected pleasure was that we were able to order a cocktail from the drinks menu to start. Great decor and atmosphere. We come to Brixham once or twice a year and we’ll do this again!

My Wife and I were on a short 5 day stay in Brixham. The Quayside was our first meal on the first night. I had the Brixham Black Bream and my Wife had the Burger. This good wholesome cooking followed by cheese and biscuits. Price approximately £65.00 with a bottle of wine included. Loved Earl what a character. Would visit again.

We enjoyed a very nice meal in a peaceful setting at this restaurant high above Brixham harbour. The room was lit up by the evening sunshine and it was a cool, pleasant atmosphere in the main part of the room, sufficiently shaded away from the windows. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The prices were very good.

We were fortunate to get a harbour view table which added to the ambience. The service was excellent and most of the food was well presented and good. Unfortunately the gratinoise potatoes were cold : we told the server who, without asking deducted, money from our bill. All in all an enjoyable meal and evening out. We would be happy to return.

The restaurant reinforced my long held view that with few exceptions you should never eat in a hotel’s restaurant. I suppose it would appeal to an ageing, genteel clientele, but not to anyone expecting food or service other than might have been acceptable in the 1960’s. I chose the wrong restaurant based on the decent reviews here. We also chose the wrong items from the menu. I blame myself, but please do not come if your expectations are anything higher than pricey, unadventurous dullness.

"From the off, everything was bang on point. The warmth of the welcome, being taken straight to our table and offered water and an aperitif promptly. We, a party of three, opted for the set lunch, which offers very good value for money. £29.50 for two courses, £35 for three, with two options for each course. Two of us opted for the baked Roscoff onion with pearl barley. Simple ingredients but beautifully cooked with a truly sublime brown onion sauce of such intensity, it lifted an already lovely plate of food to another level. The other person had the ponzu cured mackerel which she pronounced lovely but she had serious food envy over the onion dish. The main courses were grilled hake, which again was sauced to perfection and a grilled bavette with a vegetable medley and a pea? puree and a meat jus. We added a small dish of dauphinois at £5 which complimented everything very well. We drank a good and reasonably priced Rioja Blanco. No room for dessert sadly. This restaurant is not cheap but there is a difference between cost and value and The Elephant offers very good value with the set lunch; it allows you to sample really very good cooking at a price that will not break the bank. The normal a la carte menu is around double the price but on looking at what this offered, I would say that it again offers good value for money, being a step up in choice with more expensive ingredients. This is a serious restaurant. Go there. You will not be disappointed."
