"Been to Raj Tandoori a number of times now, and it 's 'nice ', without being mind blowing. It 's in an excellent location, right in the heart of town, and the prices aren 't ridiculous. Was £20 a head when we split out bill. Menu is good. Not too complicated, and everything is explained for those who don 't know what to order. I went for an aubergine dish, which was a dry ish curry. Ate the whole lot and was pretty nice but the pilau rice I ordered was a little tasteless, and the aubergine was a bit overdone. Recommend getting Naan instead of rice. Could have done with a bit more flavour. I had bits and pieces of others ' food. Lentil dish was very nice as was Saag Aloo, but it really didn 't stand out compared to other Indians. If you 're in the area it 's worth going, but don 't go out your way. The restaurant itself is a bit run down. Very small and cramped, and it looks like it was last done up in the mid 1990s.Staff were very friendly and attentive, and service was in general pretty quick. It 's a nice place to eat but not much more than that."

We have been coming to this restaurant for years, whenever we're in London. The food is always excellent, and the service is friendly welcoming and fast. Favourite items are the onion bhajis.

Maybe I am just not just used to London prices but the size of the rice and bread servings for the price were very disappointing. We just drank tap water which kept our bill to about GBP20 for 2 people for 2 mains (1 vegetarian), rice and bread. Should of been enough food but serves were tiny so i was still hungry. Food pretty bland, appeared to be frozen peas, lacked flavour.

I was looking for a classic curry house meal for dinner. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, which was understandable considering there are many trendier and more modern restaurants in the area. However, the staff were welcoming and the food, although not outstanding, was cooked well and tasty. It started to get busier as more people came in from the nearby pub. It's a typical neighborhood spot. Speisekarte ansehen

Food was uninspiring, to say the least. Curry in very runny sauce, which had the distinct taste of 'curry spices from a jar ' about it.The food wasn 't 'bad ', per se. Just a bit... 'something-of-nothing '. Staff worth mentioning, as the waiter was incredibly friendly.I 'd go back if I was on Berwick Street, and so desperate for a curry in that second that I was unable to find a different curry house in Soho to try.

We were seven but they arranged a table for us and we could directly seat. The place was small, cosy and calm and the service was very fast. The food was delicious and not too spicy. We ordered chicken curry, butter chicken, lamb massala, rice and naan and everything was delicious. And because we were a majority of students they offered us 10% on the bill. The only thing maybe is the bathroom which was a bit too dirty. So I (we) totally recommend it even with a small budget.

I want to share my experience of dining at this restaurant with people who appreciate high-quality Indian food. Unfortunately, from the food quality to presentation to service, my visit on October 12, 2017 was a major disappointment. My friend's meal appeared and tasted as if it had been reheated using old ingredients. The paneer was rubbery and unpleasant, and the paratha was equally unappetizing. When I left most of my meal uneaten, the waiter simply took the dishes away without asking for feedback. In conclusion, I advise potential customers to avoid wasting their time and money at this establishment. Speisekarte ansehen

We were unable to get in at another Indian restaurant we had planned to visit so we googled the nearest Indian and found this place. Granted it's not very appealing from the outside and I would never think to go here, I would just walk past in any other circumstance but couldn't knock the food. We were served in good time all the food was hot and very flavoursome. Portion sizes just right. Bit disappointed with the garlic nan, quite dry and small but overall we were impressed. The toilets were very off putting but clean so can't complain. Could seriously do with a change in decor and some refurb upstairs. Decent price too in comparison to other Indians nearby.

A friend and I went there on tastecard. One of the waiter's attitude was poor right from the get-go. Anyway, we specifically highlighted that we were going to order two main dishes each, taking advantage of the tastecard 2 for 1 deal. I personally made it clear we wanted to pay for two courses only because of that deal. Food came, very average. Final bill- they only took off one dish. We got into a rather unpleasant argument and I gave up in the end. I seriously would not recommend the place.Food- averagePortion- Average to smallService- Very poorAmbience- Very poor. "The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
