Retrogusto - Speisekarte

Newly arrived in Verona we were just about to check out the car and get going. But hunger... Retro gusto is a small place but with great Italian food executed well. I loved the Gnocchi and we got perfect service.

This restaurant was opposite our Hotel so we nipped in to try the food and were most pleasantly surprised they made food to liking I asked for a Carbonara which wasn't on the menu but which was cooked for me wonderful! We then sat outside and had a few drinks the restaurant closed quite early thought around 10pm. Really worth a visit we loved it.

I use to go at Retrogusto when I work in Verona especially because everyday for lunch they have a good promotion: 5 euros for a dish of pasta or risotto coffee, so the only thing you have to pay is for drinking. And usually they cook very well with cool recipies. Once we had a problem with the reservation but now it's okay. They don't smile so much while serving food, but this is not a problem : Speisekarte ansehen

Great place for special occasions, it is located at walking distance from the centre of Verona, quite small, better to reserve a table. Usually there is something outside the menù, I tried Patanegra filet which was just great and another time gnocchetti with capesante (scallops) on bur rata. There is a wide selection of wines. I couldn't enjoy it because I don't like wine but it looks good. A bit too expensive.

We visited Verona in October 2018 and spent 5 days there. Our apartment was across the street from Retrogusto, so we had the opportunity to visit this restaurant for breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner on various days throughout our visit. Each time we left delighted. The food was very good, particularly the Ravioli Retrogusto! Marco was a complete delight and all staff were friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend!

The deli part of this is too dangerous for me. We started off with a plate of cheeses and meats my travel partner had never tasted before. The poor youngster thinks he's led a sheltered life. The trip downstairs was to a very upscale restaurant. All I can tell you i that the food was extremely well prepared, was amazingly tasty and unusual in that the menu choices were interestingly put together. very clever. Service was absolutely excellent as was the wine selection. All in all, not the cheapest but highly recommended for a good dinner Speisekarte ansehen

Seemed like a nice place when we walked in and were seated. Food and wine menu was extensive, including selection of cold meats and cheeses which we were looking forward to sampling. However, right after placing our order, we noticed the cook coughing away in the kitchen without taking any care to shield the food he was preparing. We mentioned it to our server, who called out the cook, who in turn explained he wasn't sick, but just had a bad case of seasonal allergies however, allergies or not, he still shouldn't be coughing over the food he is preparing. I had a word with the owner, who was accomodating enough and allowed us to change our order and switch out our salad and cheese plate item...
