"Parking is quite convenient, though on a sunny weekend we had arrived by 9am which was adequate to ensure availability of parking. By the time that we left at 11am, there wasn 't really much parking left. We had breakfast, which isn 't really what Rick Stein 's is about (that 's seafood), but it is a restaurant with a good deal of visual drama of dining in the restaurant area with the 'Harbour View '. Certainly, climbing up the stairs and passing the kitchen to be greeted with the view of the harbour is fantastic. There weren 't any real complaints about the food, which were all very good ingredients. The coffee was good and the brewed coffee offered complimentary refills. The **** mary was really good. The children were catered for on the same menu and they seemed to scoff their food too ages ranged from four to thirteen! For me, the pick of the dishes was the crab omelette, a must have. Service... they were all very nice and professional but had a tendency to gaze downwards rather than scanning the room, a personal pet peeve. Overall, it 's certainly a lovely place to be on a sunny Sunday morning and I would visit for lunch next time."

The food is amazing. Best fish I've had. Lovely desserts and great veggie options too. The only reason to lose a star is the service. The staff were friendly and helpful but it was so slow. Spoiled an otherwise awesome visit

Dinner with a view! What an incredible culinary experience this place was beautiful restaurant with a terrace that backs onto the marina. We had the lobster and steak and both were perfect. Shout out to George our lovely waiter as well

My all time favourite TV chef we were on holiday nearby so the perfect end was a family meal at Rick Steins Sand Bank restaurant. Food was delicious, great service and atmosphere in there. Only thing to top it off would have been if Mr Stein had been there himself!

Had a wonderful lunch with my family. They do a set menu of three courses which was very good. We did not book, but it was a Monday and took a chance that we would get a table. We were lucky and were given one overlooking the harbour. It was perfect. Staff and food were excellent and we would definitely return if we were in the area.

Special day for us. The place is as just amazing, the food very tasty, the wine delicious and at the right temperature. The waiter was courteous, knowing every single item in the menu. The view was great. Thank you. For sure we will be visiting again! P.S: thanks for the surprise ‘ Anniversary ’ desert. My wife was delighted by your gesture and by the taste .

Outstanding ! Went here for lunch and was not disappointed. The menu was incredible, great wine list and good service. I had the seafood chowder for starter and lemon sole for main course, both of which were expertly flavoured and presented. My partner had the shellfish platter which was also amazing. There is also a lovely outdoor seating area where we had post lunch drinks with some cheese. Well recommended

There is just so much to be loved at this restaurant. The view, the ambience, the service, the wine selection, the different food flavours on the menu, and the children’s menu. We could sit here all day eating, chatting, enjoying the view. However, food can be even better by ensuring that they are executed at the standard which the chef and customers are expecting. On this occasion we were served undercooked white rice and this should never have happened. It wouldn’t stop us from coming back for all the good reasons listed above and have the set menu offer but it’ll probably stop us from ordering from the full price main menu.

I’ve been here twice and both times I’ve hoped to be swept away by all the greatness that goes along with the Rick Stein brand. The food is lovely but just doesn’t quite get to ‘wow’ status which makes me doubt whether it’s worth the hefty price tag for the normal a la carte menu. On my second trip, I tried the set menu which is more reasonably priced at £35 per person. Starter (fish soup) and mains (pan fried hake) were delicious but the desert was really disappointing it was meant to be a tiramisu but the sponge was hard and the cream was runny like milk. Service can be a bit off too it can be very busy and it can feel hard to get attention when you need it.

the restaurant looks good and has a view of the sea from the first floor. staff is very nice and helpful. but the food and prices were not at the level we expected. the food is very expensive. for fish and chips I paid £19.50 if I remember correctly, which is a lot and it wasn't good, fried in a lot of oil that felt on the plate only a few potatoes and a very very salty mash next to it. the starter pasta was cold and we have no flavor. and the oysters I suspect that there was something wrong with them because both we and our friends who ate oysters had indigestion the next day. we paid a lot of money and we didn't get enough because the portions were small, we had to go eat somewhere else ri...

"So we went to the restaurant with some friends the other day. I dropped my partner and her friend at the entrance until I parked since there is no parking in front of the restaurant and one of them is pregnant. It took me a total of 19 minutes to park the car and het back to the restaurant during those 10 minutes the waiter went twice to ask them if they'd like something to drink and although they initially replied that they were waiting for their partners he sent the manager out the bar to ask them in a more intimidating way and so they ordered water. Highlighting that this happened in between 10 minutes. When we arrived at the restaurant, we ordered the roasted bread, which you can actually see it wasn't roasted or warm. By the time our mains arrived the table next to us was empty and remained empty for until the time we left so made me question why the staff asked my partner a few times on what they would have making it look as they were in a hurry since there was ppenty of sitting space within the restaurant. During the whole time we were in the restaurant, there were a few flies around us which you wouldn't really expect in an indoor space restaurant of this price point. The food was amazing. We had 2 of the hake fillet and the sea bream. On the other hand my friend who ordered the sea bream was expecting it this with asparagus but instead it came with another green which would be nice to know from before. I got a creme brulee for a desert, the short bread biscuit was amazing the top of the creme was crunchy but yhe inside could have used some extra taste. All in all, if the service wasn't this poor and the flies weren't present, this review could have been way more positive."
