"we have now stopped at this place twice. for the first time, eating was very good, but the staff was rude and unwilling. I thought my assessment was unjust, so I returned and the employees and the hire were a million times worse at the second visit. it was quite clear that they had stopped serving food, why they didn't just say that. they have a waitress that is aloof and rude. they did not labor to tell us what food was available and were uninterested when we asked about what they have. several options have not been served anymore. it was clear that they prefer to serve locals, and I wouldn't advise anyone to go there. it is clear that they only want a certain client in their caffe."

our vet is in debenham, so after our appointment we stopped here for lunch. the service was okay, eating was better! there is a small business in the direction of the back of the caffes selling a good selection of food and drinks. all in all a satisfying...visit Speisekarte ansehen

Sat outside in the shade and had a very nice savoury tea' at lunchtime. Cheese scone, slices of smoked cheese and posh chutney with a pot of tea. All for Toilets were closed, I think a cafe should make the effort to have...them open even in these difficult times.

Unexpected visit and was looking for anywhere to eat and found this place. The sandwich, I highly recommend the steak sandwich. For slices of bread it was on a big plate because it was a well packed sandwich. And it was delicious. I would...also recommend the sausage rolls.

Brilliant cafe with a great ambience as well. We enjoyed lattes and a shared Suffolk cheese plate with lovely size pieces of cheese as well as apples, grapes, celery, and generous slices of crusty bread. This is our third time and every one has...been great. Highly recommend Speisekarte ansehen

Got to Debenham late, at the end of a long walk, and this cafe was open for a late lunch. It was welcoming and calm they'd got their social distancing absolutely right in an unobtrusive way. We just had coffee and sandwiches excellent...quality, great value but they do beer and wine, they have a deli and takeaway, and a line in designer gins by the bottle

We were in fact looking for a nice pub to stop at for lunch. Being a Monday and perhaps still under reduced Covid hours, we couldn’t find a decent pub open near the north of Ipswich. Almost in desperation we cut through to Debenham...to try this café and I’m very glad we did. We sat inside this attractive café at a corner table, where we felt well distanced, and had an excellent steak sandwich each, and an indulgent brownie and slice of Victoria sponge to follow along with good coffee. The lunch menu was appetising and prices reasonable. When our order came the food was well presented and delicious. I highly recommend and will certainly visit again myself soon.

"I love pubs! How many times do you hear that? I only properly discovered them 18 years ago because in France, although we have our cafes, they are nothing like pubs. I fairly quickly categorised them because when you think about it, they are all different. The best description for me for this one is a town pub full of character. I discovered it thanks to a friend and started going to hold a French Conservation group. I have only had drinks so far and believe me if you are after reasonable prices you have to go to the Gladstone. I have recently paid £2 in another place for a soda and lime. Here they charge you £0.30. And before you ask, no, it's not because it's served in a shot glass. When you enter the premises you will notice first the space. It has got room but you also can decide to sit in a smaller area. There is a fire place which is really nice especially at this time if the year. I went last Saturday to meet with a friend and we decided to have something to eat. If you want a night out but your are on restricted budget this is the place where to go. Ok the menu doesn't give you a massive choice as some do but in fact think about it, it won't take you too long to make your decision. The choice is good and the prices quite low. If you are vegetarian they certainly have thought about you. I am not but to be fair I've always wondered why the choices seem to be so restricted for those who are when eating out? I ended with the chilly beef and cheese. I like the fact you can choose to have it with rice or bread. The serving is good and I really enjoyed it. It was very tasty. The staffs work hard, are very pleasant and easy to interact with which is exactly what you want in a pub. It's a place with great atmosphere. And if you enjoy watching tv in a pub this is certainly the place where to go. It was a very reasonable and enjoyable night out. I'll be back!"
