"I ordered food from Haweli. Big mistake! The staff member who delivered my order was extremely aggressive from the moment he arrived. Instead of taking a picture of the order being delivered to my door, he started taking pictures of me and filming me on his phone. After asking him to stop on numerous occasions, he made an excuse about needing to collate evidence of the delivery. He continued to record my voice and film me and not the delivery itself! . He made me extremely uncomfortable as he continued with his aggressive nature. . My neighbour heard the commotion and stepped out to help me and offered to call the police. At that point he ran off. I have my food but cannot even eat it due to being so upset about what has happened. I called the restaurant and they had no concern whatsoever, which in itself is very concerning!! Now i have some random man with my video in his phone and a restaurant that made excuses for him! I am absolutely disgusted!"

Having received a letter through my door last week from new owners of this home dining establishment, I discovered that Royal Haweli has now closed, and become 'Pink Garlick. '

My son threw the name of this place in when we were arguing over where to order and Indian takeaway for ten recently. It was really quite good. Had ten different dishes, all sorts of side orders and add-ons and everything was well-cooked and tasty. The meat was a good quality cut rather than scrag-end. Cannot add much more: basic but did the job very well indeed. Speisekarte ansehen

We ordered off just eat and the food originally came damaged and completely un edible. Curry was all over everything but we contacted the restaurant and they gave us a whole new fresh order. I am really grateful to how they dealt with this matter and in the end their food was enjoyed by us all including four children. Chef Alam dealt with this problem professionally.

I got a takeaway for two the other day.person on the phone was friendly,i told them exactly how i wanted my spice level as i read about the blandness on the last review.the food came on time so i gave the driver a nice tip. They threw in some free spuds. The food was full of flavour and spice. I found my regular now and will be using them every curry night in as they are a takeaway only. Cheers lads see you soon

The menu was dropped through my door and the name stuck, so thought I would give them a try for home delivery via the website I tried the tandoori king prawns and they were really excellent a decent size, well spiced and not overcooked as they can be. Keema rice and chicken pakora was also good, but I did make the mistake of asking for Bombay potatoes vindaloo hot ye gods even for a heat lover they were hot !! Will certainly try again Speisekarte ansehen

We ordered from Royal Halewi last night due to the great reviews they have received online. I feared they may be too good to be true, and I was right. With four of us eating we ordered a wide range of starters and mains, all of which without exception were so bland it was shocking. Even the naan bread needed salt! My chicken biriyani was so disappointing, and the chicken didn 't taste particularly fresh. It was after eating that I googled and found the '0 ' food hygiene rating I wish I 'd seen this beforehand. Was worried I 'd be running to the loo all night. I 'm starting to believe the rave reviews were fake! Complete waste of money. Still looking for a good Indian takeaway in Kingston.

We've used the Royal Haweli twice recently for takeaway meals it is delivery takeaway only, no seating) and been very pleased with both the quality of the food and value for money. Their set meals are truly enormous; we ordered a set meal for two £20) comprising poppadums, tandoori chicken, onion bhajis, naan, pilau rice, chicken tikka masala, chicken rezala, vegetable curry and mushroom bhaji, in addition to which we got a complimentary Bombay aloo, a tub of salad and a couple of pots of a yoghurt dip. This resulted in a huge bag of food, the weight of which suggested it might feed three or four, and indeed it could have done. We piled two plates sky high not including the starters or salad...

"Obon: a petit Japanese udon restaurant that supplies a sense of Japan that cannot be found anywhere else in the whole of the Uk. (5 stars) Location: Obon is located close to the heart of Kingston but the road it’s on is considerably quieter. You must make sure to have a basic knowledge of Kingston in order to find an area to park and to also make sure you leave yourself enough time, taking the unpredictability of the traffic into acount. Even on a week day there can be traffic jams which can put a halt to your plans and due to the small amount of customers Obon can take its important that you not only book but make sure that you arrive at the agreed booking time. With this being said the staff are all lovely so if you are running late, a quick call is all that is required to just give Obon a chance to understand your position. The food: The array of exquisitely prepared sashimi will be sure to create the sensation that you are in a top Japanese restaurant in japan and the flavour of the fish does not fail to match expectations, which will be very high after just one glance at your meal. The fish is delicately seasoned and practically melts on your tongue, this causes a lovely sensation and is genuinely the finest sushi I have tasted in the uk and even matches a lot of the top restaurants in japan. On top of just the traditional types of sushi, which to many is maki rolls Obon also offers many other delicious options such as soft shell crab and even Unagi don, which I must highly recommend due to it consistently being the highlight of my meal. For those of you that were interested in the quality of the basic Japanese dishes such as miso soup or edamame they do not fail to leave you in grand anticipation for what is to come for they are, simply speaking, incredibly good. The miso, in my opinion, is truly remarkable and creates a lasting feeling of warmth throughout your entire body, on top of that it is far superior to other miso’s that I have tasted in all other areas of the world. Overall the quality of the food is something you would expect from a world famous Michelin star restaurant and if you want Japanese food it’s the only place I can recommend. The Restaurant: The restaurant itself is small but authentic in nature and because it only has a enough tables to host around 20 people at the most, the service is exceptionally good and your food is always out quickly so you will not be left hungry for very long. The staff are kind and friendly. And it’s always an enjoyable experience being waves goodbye as you leave the restaurant. You’re also able to watch as they prepare the food, which for some could be entertaining. There are Japanese photos scattered around the room and this further creates an authentic feel. The atmosphere is not lively but it is a restaurant and not a bar so is an ideal location if you are wanting high quality food. With this being said it is still a great place to go with friends and I consistently am able to have a great time no matter the occasion. Price: Obviously, the price of the food is always an important topic to come to and despite the cost of the sushi being slightly higher than you may expect from a small restaurant in Kingston, I would have to say that for the quality of the food it is ultimately a bargain. For three people, you would be spending around £100 so it isn’t cheap but you can go for cheaper types of food such as udon, which is still amazing quality and won’t set you back as much money. Overall: Obon is still my favourite restaurant in the whole of the Uk and is perfect for a special occasion but it isn’t the sort of place you’d go for a casual night out. The food is beyond incredible and thus they can cater for both children and adults by meeting every bodies needs. For anybody that enjoys sushi, I would urge you to give it a go, you won’t regret it"
