A great taste of asia will go back for sure, service is to a high standard and friendly. The location of the pub is great for a quick lunch while going through the village

The Momos at this restaurant are amazing and the staff is lovely. I would highly recommend it. We decided to stop in while walking around the Chiltern and were greeted warmly.

This charming pub has a Nepalese theme and offers delicious momos with a spicy tomato chutney, as well as a fantastic Gurkha's Revenge curry. The lady hostess and staff are very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant. Speisekarte ansehen

Fantastic random visit when passing on the M40.We were travelling home from a conference and searched for a restaurant just off the motorway. Read the reviews and decided this sounded like a lovely find. We have to agree.Friendly staff, great food and good prices. I agree with the hidden gem comments before.

We ordered the Mix cracker basket, Jhol Momo and Sekuwa for starters. For mains, the Himalayan Lamb Curry, Pilau Rice, Chilli Paneer and Royal Oak Lamb Briyani, together with 4 soft drinks. All came to a competitive £52!! The food was delicious, only reason for 4/5. Felt that service was a tad slow but understandable as bar was busy. Will come back again definitely.

In the area to visit the Remembrance Day soldiers artwork locally and came across this little gem. Hubby and I enjoy any type of spicy food and this didn’t disappoint! Food was spicy, but not hot so absolutely packed with flavour, totally delicious! Staff were very polite and helpful, despite it being a busy lunchtime. Great to see Nepalese available outside of Oxford. Essentially, still a drinkers’ pub, but with a small dining room attached, it doesn’t look like somewhere where you can get great food, but it really surprised us. We loved how it was informal, unpretentious and reasonably priced, yet serving superb cuisine. The Vegetable Momo (dumplings) and Chilli Paneer were particularly noteworthy. It may have an unusual location and not have an upmarket decor, but we found it very charming and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Staff and locals were helpful and very friendly too. We will certainly be coming back.

The hostess was very friendly and talkative. We were able to sit in the small restaurant area of the pub with our dog with no issues. The menu had many more options than what was shown on the website. We both ordered lamb dishes, which were both delicious and cooked beautifully - the lamb shank was particularly tender. The Royal Oak cheese and garlic naan was a pleasant surprise. Although the food took a bit of time to come out, we were the first ones in for lunch and it was clear that everything was freshly made, so we didn't mind the wait. The only downside was that the floor seemed a bit dirty, but the bathrooms were clean. Overall, a job well done - we will definitely be returning.

We’ve visited the Royal Oak several times now and have always thoroughly enjoyed what we’ve had. I always insist on the pork belly starter because it’s so good. Recently we tried the crispy squid which comes with a lovely dip quite unlike anything you’ve had with squid before. The momo dumplings are lovely and definitely worth a try. Mains have always been fabulous too, my favourite being a prawn curry (King Prawn Tawa Masala) as I’m a big fan of masala sauces which aren’t too spicy. Also tried recently was the lamb shank which was delicious (and quite substantial). There’s only a small number of tables in one end of the pub but you can sit elsewhere to have food.
