Schwabl - Speisekarte

Angesichts der Bewertungen hatte ich erwartet, großartiges Essen zu essen. Am Ende war es ein durchschnittliches Lebensmittel, das wir im täglichen Leben tausende Male essen.

Peaceful place, away from the attractions. City, almost home-made Austrian cuisine combined with quality catering services. Good selection of Beers. Bright and cozy room. It is possible to order the takeaway.

Die Einrichtung ist veraltet, aber der Kellner ist lustig und weiß, wie er Kinder verwöhnen kann (nein, er hat ihnen ein Krokodilspiel aus den 80ern geschenkt). Das Mittagessen ist sehr gut, man sieht mittlerweile in allen Restaurants keinen modischen Schnickschnack. Alles ist im 80er-Jahre-Stil gehalten, und das ist cool.

We went there after a visit at Schönbrunn. It was time for lunch. The place looks like a local pub, not too attractive, but as we have read nice comments on TripAdvisor we gave it a try. We ordered wienerschnitzel and beer. When the food came I was really worried, that it will be a dry and boring meal, but it was great! Juicy meat. Great sallad!

We were looking for a place to eat after the visit Schloss Schoenbrunn. Just walking 500 meters and we saw this family restaurant. The restaurant is mostly known by the locals and operates since more than 42 years. We talk a spargel soup and menu du jour and we enjoyed tasty and traditional simple food. Very good service , fast and more reasonable price made us givimg 5 stars.

We found the place when looking where to eat close to the hotel.There is a terrace outside but we didn't see the inside area. Small but we'll done menu includes a good variety of dishes belonging to traditional cousin. Service was cool and friendly. All that we have ordered was made quick and was hot and fresh. Portions are really big. Don't take two dishes of you are not sure:). Prices are fine. So if you want a friendly place with a comfort atmosphere and tasty and heavy food- try this one.

Generally speaking we always want to eat away from the tourist areas, in order to get a more authentic experience and better quality and prices. Schwabl did not disappoint. We found it serendipitously by walking away from Schonbrunn on a quiet street parallel to Schonbrunner Strasse. We enjoyed sitting outside where we were attended to promptly. The dishes were very authentic, delicious, and of very generous portions! Obviously a place where locals like to go, we may have been the only tourists there that day, for all we know. All the better as far as I am concerned.

I was rather disappointed with Austrian food till a local brought me here. I had tried a few other places highly rated on TA but have not been impressed. This place only offers Menus in German and are full of locals. Between the two of us we tried the clear soup with semolina dumpling, garlic cream soup, boiled beef, schnitzel (a special version according to my Friend) and 2 amazing desserts. I'm sorry that I don't remember their names but I was convinced that this place can do no wrong. Everything was perfect. This is definitely the best schnitzel that I ever had- the crust was crispy till the end and on both sides. I only wish that it was in a more central location!

We found this local restaurant while staying at the Courtyard near Schoenbrunn. It was within 5 minutes walking distance from our hotel and offered good, homely food. The place itself looks like your typical pub from the outside. Inside, it is dividend into the bar / smoking area and a closed dining (non-smoking) room. The service was very good, we felt very welcome from the minute we walked in. The menu is all in German however they also have a smaller one with the main menu items, or recommendations,in English.
