Shardana Cucina Vegetariana Vineria

Great food, we had meal course of the day and it was fabulous. We had both meat and fish dishes. Everything was fresh and tasty!

The service was great, the waiter came back at appropriate times when we weren’t eating. The local wine was amazing and cheap. And the calzones we’re absolutely delicious!

Nice location not far from the main square. We took the cheese plater as the starter, best part of our meal, a bit pricey, but totally recommend. Tried their seafood and carbonara pastas, both were acceptable.

I’m in the military and have been to many restaurants around the world. Shardana Bristol treated me like family and thought me about the Sicilian culture. I loved the hospitality and would recommend them to all my family.

The vegan option was like I would go to the nearest Lidl and buy soy burger. The pizza carborana was not special, not so good but not so bad, my bf said. The best of the best was the area. I was like in the Italian movie. As a tourist I would recommend to visit this place only for the place.

The Staff were friendly, smiling and extremely happy to help. The waitress who served us spoke impeccable English and was happy to help us pronouncing basic Italian phrases. The beer came in cold glasses and the coffee was excellent. The food was excellent, good portion sizes and reasonable price given the state of our exchange rate with the Euro.

From the moment I walked by to see if I could have an early dinner to paying my bill, it was a lovely experience. I had the roasted seafood plate cooked beautiful. Compliments the chef. There was no pressure but the waiter was on the ball. They did not have the right change for me so rounded of the bill to 20 euros. I had a desert and bottled water with my meal. Will be going back there before I leave.

We enjoyed our beautiful meal with candle light and then we were given complimentary lemon cello this was followed by an also complimentary amereto desert. We ordered another delicious Sicilian red and were ceremonded by a man playing the piano accordi. Then it just became the best place that we have eaten/visited in our whole three weeks in Italy. We Come from Australia and have traveled extensively around the world. This comment comes with all sincerity and experience of world travel!

During our visit to Catania we ate here on 4 occasions. I am vegetarian and generally find I have a very limited choice of food. At Shardana there were more than enough choices. I could have eaten here for a week without repeating myself. My favourite dish was scrambled tofu with mixed vegetables and oven potatoes. There was also a tempeh dish, a seitan dish, veggie burger, veggie lasagne and more. If you are a proper vegetarian beware as one dish has parmesan cheese (parmigiana) which is not suitable for vegetarians.
