"We had a short break in Cardiff for the first time and rather than go to the usual chain restaurants in the city centre we decided to try a local one instead. We looked on a well known website that advises on trips ; decided on this one and made a reservation. This proved to be a great decision as we had a really nice meal. We walked there from the centre, which took about 40 minutes and although we'd worked up an appetite after travelling to Cardiff that day, perhaps a taxi would have been a better option. On arrival, the service was prompt and efficient and the resaurant itself is quite modern. Situated on a long street that is full of numerous restaurants, cafes and takeaways covering all types of cuisine you could think of, Svago's grey and wooden facade with green neon sign stands out from it's neighbours. Rather than go for different choices, I ordered some favourite options to be able to get a true reflection of how Svago compared with my preferred Italian eateries and it did a good job. The meatballs followed by the chicken and chorizo risotto were rich in flavour and stood up well to the best I've had elsewhere. At the end of the evening, the bill for the two of us was reasonable and it lived up to the favourable reviews."

Just had the most delicious dinner! Lovely staff and very apologetic about a small delay as they trained a new team member. Honestly best carbonate I've ever had and they were so good with my coeliac allergens! 1000% will go back

Visited tonight after a long gap due to covid etc., well the service was superb from Michelle and the staff, food pizzas, and pasta meals best in cardiff. The atmosphere remains friendly and relaxed, family favourite. Will be back soon. Tricia

Came here on Friday. Food was lovely and the women service was amazing with us. When my mum felt faint in the place the women was very accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us. I would recommend to anyone who want great service. Also did gluten free options and made the garlic bread gluten free too

Thanks to Svago for a fantastic Christmas dinner on 20th Dec 2023. The food was delicious, staff very friendly and efficient and all in all we had a fabulous time, as there were 20+ people in the party it was no mean feat. Michelle was so helpful with the organising and made it very easy. I definitely recommend to everybody. Thanks and happy 2024 to all.

A group of 9 of us booked a table at Svago, The service was a little slow but in saying that it did not spoil our evening. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the venue was spotlessly clean. We all had a variation of starters and main courses with a few of us opting for deserts and coffee. I had a 'special ' to start which was whitebait. It was cooked well and seasoned just right. For the main I had Penne with a rich sauce containing strips of beef and red peppers. It was delicious. The meal was washed down with a couple of Magners. Overall a really great dining experience and highly recommended.

A very nice cosy Italian restaurant. Me and my friend went there for food and catch up. The ambience in there was really nice and cosy. We booked an hr to 30 mins ago table. They send you confirmation once booked. We went there on time, however the parking was very difficult as it was freshers week, but found parking in one of the side street lane. We didn't had to wait long and were sat immediately as soon as we entered. There weren't any mocktails on the menu, however the server said he would make something for me and he did indeed but forgot to take a picture.
