"Tang is by far the worst Chinese restaurant I have been to in my life time. The restaurant owner Charlie Tang claims he is a food visionary but in reality he is a con artist. His food is awful and his sole purpose in life is to rip off its customers. We were so furious we wanted to call the police afterwards to report a fraud. We were a party of four and the minute we sat down he gave us a menu that had fewer than 15 dishes including appetizers, mains and desert. For a Chinese restaurant, a typical menu consists of 100-200 dishes so this menu is extremely light. On the menu, the dishes were the typical sweet and sour chicken, hot and sour soup, spring rolls and Peking duck ... basically Chinese takeaway food for Westerners that has never had proper Chinese food before. Seeing we were Chinese, the owner Charlie came over and announced proudly that this is only a small list of dishes we can make, in fact we can make anything u order. Now that's a bold statement to make!!! We said ok and named a few dishes we liked such as steamed fish cantonese style and sweet vinegar pork ribs. He pretended to think for a while and said No and No to both items and we were like so why did u claim u can make anything? We then asked what ingredients u have ... at least that would help in narrowing down what to tell him. He said he wasn't sure and needs to check with the kitchen. You are the owner of a small family restaurant and u don't know what food u bought? What a lie...After 5 minutes he came back and said the way we do it here is that most people order the 3 set menus which are eur 58, 96 and 128. Most people in fact order the 128 menu for the ultimate experience. We then asked what was inside each set and he said let me surprise u. We insisted no and he insisted let me surprise you. He further added you can trust me and all my guests have never been disappointed ... in the end he still refused to give any details of what we were going to get. By that time, we were super annoyed but it was already 9pm and we didn't want to argue after a long day on the plane and picked the eur 96 meal. He didn't look happy but asked us for food allergies. We said no beef and no spicy food. We tried taking a photo and he stopped us and said no photos until food is here ... what on earth??? The first appetizer came and dead center in the plate was minced beef and peas in the center. He was like oh sorry, forgot. The next dish was steamed Vietnamese rolls which we ate only to find out beef was inside ... We were furious at that point as eating beef basically violated our religion and this was the third time we said this. Then the third dish came and it was hot and sour soup. HOT and spicy food which we didn't eat also!!! Well, looks like Charlie here is 3 for 3 in pissing us off...In reality, there was nothing he could have done to change our food allergy since everything is pre-made. Then came us ordering wine, there wasn't much to choose from and the wine list, low quality and super overpriced. A eur 20 bottle according to wine-cellar.com is selling for eur120. I chose the mid-range Margaux at eur 58 and he said oh we just updated the wine list today but the bottle I chose didn't arrive on plane yet. I also didn't want to get the eur 100+ bottle. He then pushed us to choose some bottle he had already opened which tasted like alcoholic sugar water. By that point, we gave up in arguing but it was too late. All the dishes that came were exactly as described on the menu which was spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken. Charlie was so cheap he didn't even give us the Peking duck, which was the more expensive dish among the list. There is no customization whatsoever as he had described at the beginning and their cook is amateur. The surprise we got was learning how a person can be so dishonest and lie to ur face more than 5 times in an evening. Anyone could have youtubed and learnt how to cook those dishes in 30 minutes. Lastly he gave us fried rice which had rice and egg bits. The rice was hard and uncooked. And then the noodles was pathetic, the portions were not even enough for one needless to say four people. The thin rice noodles had nothing but noodles and was white in color which meant they had no flavoring on it. The noodles were oily and not edible. I blame myself fully for falling into this scam. I was deceived by Michelin and it's recommendation, they likely bribed Michelin for this. DO NOT GO OR YOU WILL REGRET IT FOR LIFE. At eur500 for the meal, there are so many good restaurants one can go to in Paris. This restaurant needs to be busted by the police and the owner needs to be put in jail!!!"
