Great Deli with an amazing butcher and very expensive wine stock, but a tremendous range of excellent produce and nice staff

Lovely café shop full of high quality local produce. Perfect place to stop just off the motorway, we had sandwiches and hot chocolates for lunch and it was lovely.

We were blown away by the delicious simplicity of the cheese and tomato sandwich we ordered at this restaurant. The freshly cut, soft, and chunky artisan bread made all the difference. It was definitely worth the long drive to get there and we will definitely be returning in the future.

No welcome despite being the only customers. Wild prices for goods. Unhelpful slightly sneering) reply to a question I asked about their wine stock. Older lady serving not friendly at all. Overcharged on not one but TWO items, and when I pointed this out, a very mumbled insincere apology given. What a shame my first and sadly LAST visit to this “farm” shop.

Was staying locally so dropped in to pick up some food pizza, peppers, milk, orange juice and hopefully some unusual local deli stuff like smoked chicken that you can't get in M&S. To give you an example one litre of fresh orange juice £4.95. Normally I buy M&S fresh presssed orange juice at about £1.65. The M&S juice was much better at 1/3 the price. Lettuce was about 3x price I normally pay. Peppers about double. The smoked chicken was on use by date so I didnt bother. We didn't go back. I do understand small independents have higher costs and need to be supported etc etc (which I agree with) but really this is ridiculous. Speisekarte ansehen

I have to agree with other reviews regarding the prices. While it's expected to pay more for organic, locally sourced food, the prices at this restaurant are exorbitant. However, what I want to highlight is the poor treatment from the staff. Not a single smile or greeting as they walked right past us. One staff member even brushed past us without saying excuse me in a small space. The second lady did pause to ask if we needed anything, but by then we had already decided to leave. It seems as though the staff hold themselves in high regard and have little regard for the customers. I stopped at this cafe with a friend for a cup of tea after visiting the Cheltenham area. We sat inside and enjoyed our tea, but I also decided to indulge in two doughnuts. I paid for everything with my card and didn't pay much attention to the price at the time. However, when I later looked at the receipt, I was shocked to see that each doughnut was £3.25! I was surprised by the high price and felt it was unreasonable. Although the lady who served us was friendly and pleasant, I couldn't believe the cost of the doughnuts. for the past couple of years i have been shopping here on a regular basis as I purchase items to put into food hampers for my holiday cottages. It is convenient for me with good parking and some nice foodie items. I also like to support local businesses. I dont mind paying a bit over the odds as I am aware that a small company does not have the buying power of a supermarket chain. However I had to query the bill today when 7.15 was charged for a box of dorset muesli which has an average price of £3.25 at local shops. On querying it I was told it was the correct price.
