The Aikton Arms - Speisekarte

I was in 4 nights when I was a solo travel partner, the meals were very good I enjoyed everyone. they have to taste the Sunday dinner, it was melted in the mouth of bark and huge Yorkshire doll with all the circumcisions. everyone has made me welcome and I want to thank them.

Me my partner and son went for Sunday lunch and I must say it was outstanding! My son and I had the belly buster and there was loads of meat that was all very soft and tasty. The homemade gravy was lovely and the service...was excellent. Good choice of desserts,we had Eton mess , honeycomb cheesecake and chocolate gateux all very nice. Well done team couldn't recommend highly enough

for a family birthday waiting for an hour to arrive for eating there was only one table of two in, five meals came out that were finished before the remaining four meals came only terrible service when we complained that we were told to the cook...has cooked the children's meals first, which was not true, since we had only two children's meals, we will never go again absolutely shockingly to go back to Speisekarte ansehen

Visited this pub with my husband and found the food delicious hot(which is quite rare these days) the atmosphere was warm and welcoming,lovely clean throughout.We had the fish n chips which was cooked perfectly,batter was nice n crunchy.Chips were homemade very tasty,peas...were spot on! Had a brief chat to the new owner(Wendy I believe) found her to be very friendly,genuinely interested in how we found the food served to us that day.Excellant customer care.Will deffo be going back. Terrible The new owners were clearly not ready to open and it showed in all aspects of our visit. Staff improperly dressed, no menus, land-line phone not working, no lager at the bar, toilets working but unfinished. No vegan or veggie options and fixtures ..fittings being moved around in the kitchen during service. We had (cold) curry which appeared to be Chinese takeaway grade powdered curry with boiling water added and a few bits of chicken and onion thrown in. The management will need to work extremely hard to bring The Aikton Arms up to the very high standards of the previous owners. Disappointed and no plans to ever visit again.

I visited the aikton arms with my partner and 2 children for lunch and it was worth the drive! Very welcoming from the staff and also I may add very understanding towards my son who is non-vebal and has autism, nothing was an inconvenience to...them, the food OMG! This was my first but certainly won't be my last visit, absolutely beautiful, the homemade soup had a kick but just the right amount and the crispy batter on my cod was divine . My children loved their meals of chicken nuggets and fries and mini fish and chips, My partner had the posh fish finger sandwich and he agreed it was some of the best we have tried, we have paid more for lesser quality than that before, we can't wait to ret... In the area and needed lunch, we phone the pub as we had visited a few years ago. The call was answered promptly and we were able to confirm they were serving lunch. The staff were very welcoming and explained the menu to us, they’ve...recently taken over and apologised for the handwritten menu, but no apology was required! Based on chef’s suggestions we both opted for fresh fish straight off the catch that day. As I don’t like peas I was offered extra salad and I asked for a portion of garlic bread. The food was delicious and portions are incredibly generous. My husband had the cod, chips and mushy peas which was so fresh and I opted for the posh fish finger sandwich served on ciabatta roll...

* we will always be a very warm greeting from...Wendy and her team that I really love and nothing is too much annoyed. we have eaten there a few times and eating is excellent, Sunday roasting is the best I ever had, delicious meat and much of it, homemade yorkshire puddings and a lot of sweet. I don't care to wait for food, because everything is made home and the standards are very high, fresh ingredients and always served piping hot and large portions. the pate and prawn cocktail stars are my favorite and the surf and rasen is cooked from this world with juicy juicy prawns burst with taste and a juicy steak just as I like it. our children and our dog were always welcomed and the playroom an...

Hate doing this but… We went here for a meal to celebrate two birthdays, o really wish we hadn’t. I’m aware the pub is under new management but even so. Firstly we had to wait ages to be seated as there was only one person...behind the bar and who didn’t really appear to know what he was doing so we found a table ourselves. Waited a while for a menu to arrive as there was only one (yes only one in the entire pub) and someone else was looking at it. I chose Lasagne and ages later I was told they had ran out so chose the chilli as there was literally nothing else on the menu I ate. My vegetarian partner had to have fish and chips as there was no veggie option. Limited choice in starters meant... Speisekarte ansehen
