"I have eaten at this restaurant before and had no complaints about the soup. However, during my recent visit, I was disappointed. I sat next to a couple who were not happy with their sandwiches as they were dry and lacked butter. They also mentioned that there was no salad cream available, which was surprising as there is likely a supermarket nearby. One major concern for me was that the restaurant allows dogs, which is fine, but the staff should not be touching them. I witnessed a server petting a dog and not washing her hands before handling customers' food. This is not hygienic and the owners should address this issue. I am unlikely to return as I prefer to eat in a clean and sanitary environment."

Popped in for a light lunch and had soup and sandwich and pot of sea. Food was very good as was service on what was a quiet day although it was busying up as we were finishing. Well worth a visit

This beautiful cafe has a great view and ample parking. The house baked goods were delicious. It's a nice stop-off spot for a meal or just to visit, especially since there's a children's playground nearby. Speisekarte ansehen

The ladies toilet could have done with a clean. More should be made of the fabulous outside area. We had to actually ask to sit there and staff had to reassemble the chairs, wipe down the tables and apologise for the slippy decking.

Properly nice unexpected find of a place. Great park out the front for the kids, felt like we had found a gorgeous little holiday cafe (even though we weren't far from home) lovely staff, good food, nice portion sizes. We'll be back!

I decided to spend the day in Helensburgh and stumbled upon this hidden gem on the coast. I was so pleased with the beautiful experience all around. The stunning view creates a very relaxing atmosphere. I enjoyed a delicious hot latte, a tasty tuna melt with salad, and the best red velvet cake I have ever tasted! I will definitely be returning. I recently enjoyed breakfast with a friend at this restaurant and had a very pleasant experience! We both ordered the Beachcomber breakfast, which was delicious. All of the ingredients were of high quality, with a special mention for the square sausage which was excellent! The coffee was also great. The interior of the restaurant is fresh and light, and the service was fantastic. I will definitely be returning here again. I highly recommend it.

We arrived at 3:30 pm on a beautiful sunny day and were disappointed by the view from the deck. We felt unwelcome as we were told that only coffee and cake were available. The service was reluctant and we were treated poorly as others arrived after us. It would have been better to be told that the restaurant was closed. It's a shame as the setting is lovely, but we won't be returning. There are plenty of other places in Helensburgh where we have always received good service.

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"
