"We went tonight, ok we had a groupon for four adults but we still had paid £42 for that groupon. We got there and ordered our drinks, we wanted white wine but were told they ran out due to a large party from Cruffs on Friday night drinking it all, along with other items on the menu. We then went on to order our food, well what they had not run out of!! We were then told that that the manger had tried to ring us during the day to say that they had run out of lobster. But we never received a phone call, along with other diners who had turned up with a groupon voucher. We were offered anything off the menu except the fillet steak. Everything on the menu was way cheaper than what we were expecting, after complaining we got offered the fillet steak. When the steak arrived it was obvious that 2 of the steaks were not fillet but iron steak which was also in the menu. When we started to eat the steak it tasted funny. At this stage we were just past the point of caring as there were other guests arriving but being told different stories as to why there was no food left (accident on the M42) I felt sorry for the poor young waitresses and young lad who had to deal with all the complaints while the manager was in the kitchen and didn 't have the decency to come and speak to people. Won 't be back again."

We went out as a family and had a wonderful meal .the starters were well presentedand delicious ,hower the mains of Lobster and steak were out of this world .The steak was moist and tender and the lobster was beautiful ,it was served with chunky chips ,mushrooms ,tomato and rocket salad (I would have prefered a mixed salad but that

I decided to try this restaurant for the first time after hearing great things about the food. I must say, the food was outstanding - cooked to perfection. The atmosphere and staff were also excellent. Both of us ordered the fillet steak, which was absolutely perfect. It was cooked exactly to our liking and simply melted in our mouths. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant. Speisekarte ansehen

Cold plates were put in front of us !!!Food was ordered i ordered mine medium husband ordered his rare .why ask us when we both had half a steak each both very **** . Lobster was chewy and chips were un eatable. Best part of meal was starter. After a few complaints from the group we were offered free desserts .it was a shame as we were so looking forward to celebration .we wont return as we feel it was money wasted .

we went to the blue steak on a groupon voucher for a steak and lobster meal..The starter was ok but the main course started badly with cold plates..the steak was cold and the lobster watery...the steaks were taken away and replaced with more luke warm and tough steaks!! the peppercorn sauce which was £3 was cold!! and tasted of cold cream...it was replaced and came back hot but having had a load of peppercorns thrown in it. still only tasted of cream. The cook needs to go on a cookery course!!The waitresses were good and tried their best in a bad situation.

Bought a deal over internet, would not have wanted to pay full price! Place looks like a cheap diner, very weird. We could choose a starter from a good selection, my pâté was a bit hard but relish was lovely and tangy and the bread was warm and yummy. We had to have surf and turf, the rump steak was cooked perfectly. The lobster was a challenge, but was fun. The garlic undercooked and not needed and we were encouraged to have a sauce, which was horrid and not needed. Chips were lovely and all in all, it was a good dish. Didn't have a pud, bit boring. Won't go back, much rather go to a pub! Speisekarte ansehen

My party and I booked a deal at this restaurant through Groupon, which included a 3-course meal with wine and coffee. One great aspect of this place is that we were able to use the voucher on a Saturday night, which was a pleasant surprise. We were seated at a window table in a nice and clean establishment that resembled a pub restaurant. We started with Lamb Koftas and Fishcake, both presented beautifully and tasty. The mains, a mixed grill and Butterfly Chicken, were also well-presented and cooked perfectly. Our desserts, two sundaes, were delicious and served with coffee. Our waitress did an excellent job running the floor single-handedly, ensuring that our food arrived promptly. This res...

I purchased a deal through Groupon for this restaurant and was extremely disappointed. The food was poorly cooked and neither my girlfriend nor I enjoyed it. Despite saving money on the supposed regular price, the quality of the meal was still terrible. The fish cake was passable, but the koftas were burnt, the steaks, gammon, and mushrooms were overcooked, the chips were microwaved and rock hard, and the chicken was low quality and tasted frozen. The dessert selection was limited, with my first choice unavailable and the only remaining option seeming stale. Despite the disappointing experience, we tried to make the best of it and had a laugh at the situation. We felt sorry for the young ser...

"I want to start by mentioning that the restaurant's website seems to focus primarily on events, which makes it difficult to find specific information about their Sunday lunch hours and menu. Upon arrival, I informed the staff that I could not have cheese in or on my food. They were attentive and checked with me about certain dishes, which I appreciated. The welcome was friendly, and the staff were great. The venue itself is lovely. We all opted for the Sunday roast, except for my daughter. Here’s a breakdown of what we ordered: - 1 x Le Serre Chardonnay - £24.50 - 3 x Cokes (330ml) - £7.50 - 1 x Pink Flamingo Cocktail - £9.50 - 1 x Pravha - £5.00 - 2 x S P Squid - £14.80 - 2 x Moroccan Haloumi - £14.80 - 1 x Confit Chicken - £16.95 - 2 x Free Range Chicken - £33.90 - 1 x Topside of Beef - £17.95 - 1 x Churros - £6.40 - 3 x Sticky Toffee Puddings - £20.70 - 1 x Coffee Americano - £3.00 - 1 Double Hennessy Fine - £28.00 - 1 x Espresso Martini - £8.00 **Subtotal**: £211.00 **Service Charge**: £21.10 **Total**: £232.10 I made sure to verify that the staff receives their share of the service charge (except the managers). As for the food, all the starters were fine; I would have preferred a little more chili and, if I’m honest, I ended up "borrowing" some of my daughter's. The main courses were impressive—my son’s beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and my free-range chicken roast was packed with flavor. The desserts were enjoyable as well; my son loved the churros, while my wife found her Sticky Toffee Pudding a bit too generous in portion size. Now, for a couple of minor points, but I’m not deducting any stars for them: 1. The roast potatoes were a bit bland. I’m not sure what fat was used for roasting; I was hoping for goose fat. They were large, which I appreciate, but I found the outside a bit hard to cut through. I suspect they might have been prepared earlier in the day and kept warm. 2. The roast chicken felt a bit lacking without stuffing. 3. As for the Sticky Toffee Pudding, it was good but didn’t quite measure up to my wife’s own recipe. It felt more like sponge cake and could have used more toffee sauce. The ice cream on top was nice, though—I wouldn't have minded a bit more! 4. Lastly, I enjoy a brandy with my coffee at the end of the meal. I appreciated the choice of cold or warm milk, but the brandy was served in a cold glass, which it didn’t deserve. Holding it didn’t help much; it would have benefited from a warmer glass. Would I return? Absolutely! I didn't dock any points for the minor issues. However, I should mention that the acoustics could be challenging for the hearing impaired—the restaurant lacks soft furnishings to absorb some of the noise, and the background music was a bit overwhelming for me with my hearing aids. I found it difficult to hear my family over the sounds from other tables, as hearing aids tend to amplify louder noises. The music was more of a distraction than an enhancement. Overall, I had a pleasant experience, and I would recommend giving this place a try!"

"Arrived a few minutes early at 3.15pm for our 3.30pm booking. Very warm welcome from blonde waitress at bar. Very quickly seated by dark haired waitress with glasses who wasn 't very friendly from the start. Pub was fairly busy on arrival but soon became pretty quiet, perhaps explaining our tail end of service poor experience. Wine list had to be chased as didn 't arrive. Drinks also had to be chased. Service to actually place our order had to be chased as we were seemingly abandoned after asking for a few minutes to chose our meals after being asked for our order only a couple of minutes after arrival. Further service had to be chased from our dead zone later in the meal. These were details only, very annoying but par for the course these days sadly. The main and more significant issue was the quality of the roast beef. Tough to the point that you could not cut it. Also delivered not as requested in terms of cooking so lots of back and forth to get our meat cooked as we had asked. Numerous veg were cold or luke warm. Several yorkshire pudding way beyond crisp to the point of being burnt. Excessive salt on majority of veg. Manageress arrived fairly quickly and was initially responsive but the experience at this stage was already hugely spoiled. Replacement food was much better but by that stage we had been put off the whole lunch and to reflect this were offered 2 glasses of wine and a portion of custard to compliment our dessert! This place has been unreliable since the start of the Giles ownership. The family attitude to customers is poor. We asked for the manager to review the bill to reflect the poor experience and ended up being passed a phone to talk to the manager who had gone home. This some 3 hours after we entered the pub due to the awful experience we had encountered."
