"we made dinner. we were pretty late and the place was busy even though it was a weekday. as a result, the inspections of the service were somewhat slow. there, but it was good overall. server were helpful and friendly. While they may expect standard-sub-grub, the menu has some more interesting elements. the prizes were a bit high to fit. the selected items were especially enjoyed the hand-cut chips."

"We had our wedding breakfast reception here, we had The Best Day. Jo team were fantastic from the very beginning. Nothing has been too much trouble, all our requests were catered for and all without problem. We had a buffet for the wedding breakfast which had a variety of different items to choose from, our brief for this was to keep it simple traditional as we had some fussy eaters. They did not disappoint. The chicken drumsticks especially went down an absolute storm. We hired in a hog roast for the evening which we were given use of the outside barbecue area for the caterers to prepare, cook serve the food from. The weather was amazing so we could take advantage of the balconies which we could watch a polo game rom that was going on. The views are also beautiful, perfect for us to take some memorable wedding photos in front of. Overall experience, exceptional service, affordable prices, amazing staff, keep up the good work guys."

"I stayed overnight at this restaurant while making my way up the flight of locks. The food and beer were excellent, and the service was attentive. The layout was quite unique, featuring tables set up in different styles of 'booths'—it was quirky but enjoyable. It was clearly a popular spot for locals, and the bar area buzzed with some lively 'pub politics' discussions, reminiscent of a time when pubs didn't have to serve food to survive. The locals were warm and welcoming, as was the landlord. Unfortunately, my early departure the next morning was delayed due to an empty pound a couple of locks away. However, I appreciate the landlord, who was out for his morning walk, for kindly opening one of the lock gates for me. Thank you!"

"This pub/restaurant has incredible potential. I visited at the end of January, so we stayed indoors, but the building itself is charming. I had dinner with my sister, whom I hadn't seen in a long time, and we ended up spending nearly five hours there catching up. The staff were incredibly friendly and made sure we were comfortable throughout our visit. The food was excellent, and the service was great. We spent just over £50 for two, which included a shared dessert, some drinks, and coffees, making it a fantastic value for the quality we received."
