We came here for my mums birthday. It was beautiful. The food was very tasty! The staff were super friendly happy. Everyone loved it! I would definitely visit again. I'll start with the positives, the location is absolutely stunning overlooking the beach on the cliffs. The portion size was large and enough for two meals. The negatives massively took over the positives with this place which is a shame. The vegan options are boring, surely in 2021 there could be a better option than a burger, a veg curry and a pasty... boring. I had the curry and it was nice but nothing to write about. There was a willingness to flex the menu to suit customers tastes was non-existent, I called ahead to see if I could get something other than what it looked like as a plain tomato pata but there was none give it was one of the three options. Been meaning to review The Bowgie for awhile now. This lovely spacious pub is set on the West Pentire headland overlooking Crantock Beach. It offers good general veggie options including Ratatouie (vegan), Cauliflower Cheese and veggie burgers. Not expansive options but tasty nevertheless. However, when asked they have provided more expansive options including a couple of tasty vegan dishes. Would love to see vegan options more frequently but very much welcomed the efforts they have made to date. Absolutely beautiful place with amazing views however very poor customer service due to having to use apps. We went last week with parents and found that we cannot go to the bar to order. As parents are older they cannot work the app, and when we joined and went to order it then took us 10/15 mins to do so via the app and therefor ignoring our guests whilst we did this. I HAVE HAD TO DO THE JOB OF A WAITER/WAITRESS FOR THEM TO GET MY TRADE WHEN THIS IS WHAT YOU PAY FOR WHEN GOING OUT FOR A MEAL When going for a meal it is also the customer service and customer interaction from waiters and bar staff which is enjoyed and not an experience where I would of got the same service at McDonald's.
