This was our first visit to Canton Chef in about five years. We chose a busy Saturday evening, with the restaurant fully booked and bustling. Despite the crowd, we had a wonderful experience, enjoying great service accompanied by smiles and delicious food. We even had a lovely conversation with the owner at the end of our meal. Appalling would be an understatement. I would give it a zero if there was an option. Unfortunately didn’t read the recent reviews before ordering from here. Food was very oily, bland and tasteless. Extremely overpriced. Bad customer service with a rude man taking orders on the phone. I definitely would urge people to spend their money elsewhere. Service: Delivery

The Chinese food here is just average at best, and they really need to rethink their pricing. They charge £68 for a duck and pancakes in a small village, which is quite outrageous. Even takeout and restaurants in larger cities don't charge that much for the same dish. We opted for half a duck, which was still a steep £35, and although it was decent, it came with insufficient pancakes and accompaniments. Save your money; there are plenty of better Chinese restaurants in the Holme Valley.

If a 0 was possible then that would be my food rating for Canton Chef. We ordered Friday night, picked up no problems. On returning home we opened our food to what can only be described as oily tasteless and revolting food. The beef was absolutely appalling, the egg in the fried rice was as if it had been scraped off the bottom of an old pan, the duck, minimal, tasteless and very fatty. The salt and pepper chips were hideous just a mouth full of salt. We were so furious with the food we were tasting/looking at that it went straight into the bin and went for a plan B. Due to it being a half an hour round trip, we could not even be bothered to drive back and forth to drop off the vile food and... Speisekarte ansehen
