"Such a sad story, I'm afraid. My father died a few days ago and wished to have his wake at The Bull. We sent a message to the new owners Joe and Natalie 8 days ago asking them to come up with a menu and some ideas. They didn't respond other than to tell us it was £10 per head and that would be £1,500 in total. We were shocked at the astronomical price and asked what kind of food we would get. He told us he had never done a buffet before since taking over the pub from his dad. We decided that this isn't suitable so we asked if he would allow us to have The Chefs Kitchen to deal with the catering in order to provide the top quality food we want for anyone attending the wake and the answer was simply no, you have to buy our food. So following on from all this we have had no choice to change the venue. Bob visited this pub nearly every day for the last 15 to 20 years and this is how they treat him. Sheer desperation and daylight robbery. Honestly I can't put into words just how annoyed I am."

"Visited for Sunday Lunch Service as a small group of friends Wow!! Venue: Ample parking, located near Lutterworth near easy to access. A beautiful restaurant with warm cozy Christmas decor Staff: So friendly and attentive! Not ever received service this perfect nor...as enjoyable The gentleman making the drinks at the bar was superb and so flexible, we were not keen to drink alcohol for lunch so he kindly adjusted the menus for cocktail into mocktails! Highly recommend all the creations, in particular the passionfruit and pineapple mocktail! Thank you so much! Each dish came with a brief introduction and Chef Alexander even personally came to the table at the end of the meal to discuss the dishes! Food: Beyond words- it is amazing! This place truly deserves Michelin Star status the menu consisted of the Romanian bread with truffle butter, the salmon roulade, the turkey (I only picked turkey as a homage to Christmas and usually have extremely low expectations as it is difficult to cook as it is often dry this dish was so tender and flavour some its mind blowing. Highly recommend! The dessert was pear pastry with coffee /tea- The whole experience was perfect (I hardly ever use that word I would highly recommend this establishment and would have no hesitation in returning in fact we plan to when it reopens in Jan for their Spring Menu Wishing the establishment and all its staff a very Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!"

"The atmosphere of our past experiences was no longer present at the restaurant, and the diverse craft food options we had enjoyed before were now missing. The walls were now empty without the artwork that used to decorate them. Even the outdoor seating seemed less inviting. Despite these changes, we may have still chosen to dine there if it hadn't been for the bothersome flies that were buzzing around. We were surprised to not see a commercial electric fly zapper in sight which could have helped solve the issue."

"We had been wanting to visit this pub in the heart of the village for a while, and today we finally had the opportunity. We were a group of four vegetarians, so we were a bit worried about the menu options. Two of us decided to try the Veggie Sausage and Mash but requested chips instead of mash, and added an egg on top. So we ended up with Veggie Sausage, Egg, and Chips. We had no complaints, and the meals were delicious! My wife ordered the beetroot risotto, and the other person had the Mac N Cheese as their main. All of the dishes were served hot and were of good quality. The service, music, and atmosphere were also excellent. We will definitely return to this pub. If you haven't been here yet, you really should give it a try!"

"I’ve driven past the Black Horse many times, but have never been in. My son has been in a number of times and so, we decided to celebrate his birthday there with family and friends. The large pool area was gifted to us and ample seating provided so we could all sit, have a natter, and enjoy the food that the pub laid on for us. It’s for such a lovely homely atmosphere and is well served by the local community I can see why! The staff are lovely, bar prices are very reasonable and there is plenty of room as it’s quite a large pub. The facilities are very clean: sometimes a pub can be let down by the loos! Not here. Really pleasant and nicely decorated. We were made to feel very welcome and having not been before I will certainly be revisiting. Highly recommend."
