"We went on Valentines night it was busy but service kept up, although we had different waiters at times as they were clearly trying hard to get food out. The ambience was good and they had made a great effort with a special Valentine’s menu which included a few joint dishes to share nice touch. The food though was the weak point presentation of the starter platter was worst than we would manage at home. The prawns were defrosted and tasteless. The rest of the platter was OK but the only highlight was the calamari. The main course was chateaubriand which we asked for rare it was so over cooked that the ends were medium and even the middle was at best medium rare, which for chateaubriand just ruins it. Overall, close to very good but let down by the main event."

We have had dinner many times here. The food is very good as is the ambiance. Service was fast and attentive without being too much. I would definitely recommend this gastro pub.

Food was excellent. Chef ben produced an unbelievable linguine. Had huge amounts of flavour and staff were extremely friendly, service was very quick and only 20min wait for food during a busy period of the night.

I like the Chilworth Arms for accessibility for meeting friends. I have used this pub for many years but recently on the few occasions I’ve dined there a lot of the food is not available. Also a lot of flies seem to be buzzing about not sure what’s that all about.

Had a lovely evening at this location with my partner and mother. We were running late and they amended my booking time with no fuss. The food was excellent and the wine list was more than adequate. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I would thoroughly recommend this establishment.

Poorly cooked pasta, crackling so hard that pliers wouldn’t have broken and burnt pastry too thick. Our booking was not shown on their system causing a queue at reception, even though the table was booked through OpenTable. Shame, was expecting a pleasant evening to celebrate fantastic GCSE results for my daughter won’t be coming back anytime soon.
