Had an amazing vegan night. Tried 3 starters, mains and deserts which were all fabulous. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was wonderful. I love a real log fire too! Will definitely be back

Poor vegan offerings with the unimaginative staples ‘curry’ and ‘salad’. Vegan burger only vegan if you ordered salad with it, chips weren’t vegan. Still would’ve set you back £14. Not worth it. Customer service also left much to be desired. Very unwelcoming and seemed like we were an inconvenience.

It was our first time visiting The Church Mouse. We were greeted by friendly staff and took to our table right next to the fire. We were served by Reece who was extremely friendly and attentive. The service was brilliant, such a lovely atmosphere and friendly all around. Our waiter was Matthew, he was incredibly friendly and helpful as were the all the other staff. An enjoyable evening. The staff were welcoming and helpful and the food was excellent and fairly priced. Good options for restricted diets were available too. It was nice there being an open fire but, if anything, we were seated a bit close to it where it felt quite hot but this wasn't a big problem. Vegetarian options: A good offering of vegetarian dishes and a couple of vegan, with options of vegan versions for a couple more. Price per person: £20–30

Absolutely fantastic, the best and only way to describe the food, service and atmosphere. We went out for Sunday lunch, and from the moment we entered to time we left everything was brilliant. We had a lovely table right in front of the fire, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was lovely, the beef was perfectly cooked and the vegetables the same. I would highly recommend the Church Mouse and will most definitely be going back again and again.

Visited today for food and explained that I’m vegan but also have severe allergies to dairy and egg. I was served a Yorkshire pudding (regular containing milk and eg). Their Sunday menu only had a roast which for some reason couldn’t have the vegan option that came with it so it was just veg. Waitress didn’t seem to have a clue about allergies or the vegan options on the menu to be honest. Through the week they seem to have two or three choices one being a burger with chickpeas and butternut squash or something of the nature, no longer even have a moving mountains burger.
