"I visited The Crooked Spoon for breakfast as part of a stay in one of the Enchanted Village Treehouses. This review is solely based on the experience at The Crooked Spoon and not the Enchanted Village Treehouse which was great. Upon arrival, the waitress found our booking, however due to the clear chaos that had been unfolding during the breakfast service, there wasn’t one available – not the best start. What’s the point in a booking system if you’re not actually reserving tables for people? The whole experience was nothing short of disappointing. There wasn’t enough plates or bowls, so we had to wait 10+ minutes just for some crockery. The food was poor quality, cold and really sub-par. The staff were trying to replenish the food and crockery as quickly as possible but it was clear there wasn’t enough crockery or staff to do that fast enough. Unfortunately, if you’re staying at Alton Towers, there is a very limited choice for breakfast as you must go where you are staying. Because it’s included in the price and you can’t go anywhere else, it certainly felt like they’d given up at this point, and it did leave a sour taste after what was an enjoyable night in our treehouse."

Over priced junk. The food was bland. 5 people and paid over £110. It’s just so bad. The service is slow and you have to queue and pay before you eat. Just nonsense.

Great restaurant. Good service. Nice atmosphere. When we went they had a singer and the vibe and the atmosphere was lovely. The food was tasty and large portions if a little expensive, luckily the pass we have gave us some discount. Vegetarian options: Vegan bean burger or a vegetarian curry thing Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

Unable to sit a group of nine, even with large empty tables. Apparently takes 30 mins to reset a table. Sat at split tables and given the most disgusting wet and stick menu's to read. Ordered food, food arrived quickly and was fairly good. Sat surrounded by empty dirty tables for most of our meal. Not a great experience give the high prices. Service: Dine in

The atmosphere is calm, and the staff is attentive. Although the menu has a limited selection, the food is delicious. No reservations are needed—just walk in, and you won't encounter any issues. Overall, it’s an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend that anyone staying at Alton Towers Hotel, pods, or Enchanted Village choose to dine here instead of the Secret Garden; it’s a much more pleasant experience. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Dinner.

Whether it's breakfast or dinner, this place is just great. the workers are so beautiful and helpful, and a short scream for val and james, both had a nice chat with us and let us smile. eating is excellent, and the portions are really generous. everyone here is stellar and a joy to be here. at the end, for starters, pornstars and extras it was £53, which is quite standard for most restaurants. when they add in brilliant service, it is an absolute steal. a wonderful addition to a wonderful journey away. Go on super, young!

Absolutely brilliant place for dinner. We went into our reservation here a bit pensive as the previous night of our stay we eat at The Secret Garden restaurant and it was absolutely awful. The Crooked Spoon however was amazing and we are so glad we ended our stay on such a high. From the moment we sat down and was greeted by our waiter Robert we felt so relaxed and in safe hands, Robert couldn't have been more helpful and nothing was a problem for him to do. We ate some sharing Nachos to start, aSirloin Steak that was cooked medium as requested and a Tennessee Burger which again was amazing. The chefs are certainly good here as all was cooked perfect. The portion size was massive, we couldn'...

Went for dinner here as part of my sister’s birthday weekend away. We were told they could not seat our party of 9 as there were no tables free. We witnessed a suitable table become free but were told it would take a half hour to clear. After offering to clear the table ourselves, so we could sit together, we were bluntly told no and ushered to two separate tables. Menus were dirty and sticky. So much so, you wanted to wash your hands after touching them. No table service. Ordered food and drink at the bar. Which arrived fairly promptly and the quality of the food was good overall but overpriced. We sat surrounded by dirty tables. No tables were cleared throughout our visit. You would expect...

"A break in the weather so we walked up to the house admiring the setting. On arrival, the door to the tea shop had a table in the way see photograph. A waitress popped her head out the door and looked at me as if she wondered what we were doing there. 'Are you still serving....cake? ' says I. 'Yes, take a seat ' and she gestured to one of the courtyard tables. We took a table the only customers (or so we thought). The waitress came to take our order I was so looking forward to a slice of cake. Imagine my disappointment when the only offerings were shortbread, brownie or scones. So we plumped for a cream tea (no fruit scones available, only plain) and a brownie. Now it is a pretty courtyard...but not in the pouring rain. Being British, we sheltered under a parasol to enjoy our tea. Unfortunately, the scone was microwaved and they forgot the brownie, but served two cream teas?! When my jeans started to get wet, we decided not to hang around and so I went to settle up. On paying (at the doorway) I looked to the left and saw another couple sitting at a table INDOORS ...all warm and toasty, plus lots of empty tables. I asked the waitress why couldn 't we have been seated indoors. Her reply 'They were reserved '. Really? We had been there 15 minutes and no one had arrived or left. It was 3.15 on a wet and windy Friday afternoon. I really felt as if we had been an inconvenience."
