"What a great place to visit. The Crossroads is a warm and friendly place to be. It oozes charm with such a welcoming atmosphere created by the landlords and chef, the kitchen and bar staff team. The bar staff team obviously enjoy their jobs and have a great rapore with the landlords, offering a friendly but professional touch that just adds to the whole experience. The chef creates some amazingly tasty meals that are very filling and such value for money. The Sunday roasts with a variety of meats. The interesting weekday menu and gluten free, vegetarian or vegan options are there too. The sweets and cakes are a must to try also. I am visiting from Australia and have returned a few times during my stay here to eat and enjoy an evening relaxing. The locals have invited me to join them to chat about life down under. There are theme nights to help create variety and involve the community, friendly patrons, an ample car park and a snug area. Back to the menu and the meals; I just must say more. The meals are served on piping hot plates, this means the meals are still hot when they arrive and stay hot. They are good quality pub meals but of such a high standard, it clearly shows the skill and pride of the professionally dressed chef and kitchen team. I wish I could cook to that standard. The Crossroads is most certainly worth a visit. I strongly recommend a booking as it gets quite busy, particularly on theme nights. Check out the sweets and cakes, it'll take time; thats all I am going to hint at. For a country that relies so much upon tourism, the landlords and team have certainly got it right."

We visited today as a party of 12. When we booked over the phone we were sent a menu so we could choose our food before arriving to speed up the process to give us a better experience). Tasha greeted us and was our main server. She was excellent from start to finish. The roast dinners were great and enjoyed by all. Plenty of choices for dessert and good beers and wines. All in all a very enjoyable Sunday lunch. Thank you

We were staying close by and spotted this pub so decided to try it for an evening meal as it meant we could walk to it and both have a drink. We weren't disappointed. Welcoming staff, clean and tastefully decorated, good menu. We both went for burgers and thought they were delicious and good value for money. We were quite full but manged to squeeze in a home made pudding (as well as a piece of chocolate cake to take home..! .

This place was convenient for where we was staying so decided to try it for a meal. The table was sticky which was off putting and as we were not particularly Hungary.went for jacket potatoes ,mine was with Tuna mayo.and friend had beans and cheese. When they arrived I wished I had gone for cheese and beans as there was much more filling than my tuna one they came with a little side salad ,at £8 each thought not very good value.

We went for Sunday Lunch and all three of us enjoyed our meal. We each chose a roast dinner, two beef and one turkey. The meals came with all trimmings, fresh vegetables served separately. Clearly good quality products were used, my beef was cooked well and was tender and delicious. Extra gravy was brought (separate beef and turkey gravies was a nice touch). The portions were generous and certainly satisfied. All staff (bar and waiting) were professional and welcoming. The venue was busy but we were served in reasonable time and the servers were attentive to our needs. The environment is very pleasant indeed, attractive decor and very clean. The Cross Roads is a clearly popular venue for Sun...

We were travelling back from a concert in Lincoln to Grimsby and thought we would drop off for a drink Hubby I had previously popped in on our way back from Nottingham, hence why we wanted to call in again with friends)…beautiful day for a change and the beer garden is lovely…..we did feel peckish but seemed like they only served full meals when we looked at the menu but it wasn’t an issue….the manger came out and asked if we would like to eat but explained we really just want a snack type of food and we said a ‘Bowl of Chips’ would be good, he then said ‘I can sort that for you guys’…. How accommodating was that?…in fact I think we started a trend because there were quite a few bowls of chi...

"I've been in Horncastle on business twice once on a Monday, once on a Tuesday and both times found the town mostly closed for business in the evenings. This time, just as I was on the point of deciding people in Lincolnshire must have a tradition of fasting on a Tuesday evening, I came across The Bull. This attractive old coaching hotel looked inviting, and the staff offered me a friendly welcome. The warmly lit, high ceilinged interior of this Georgian inn was full of diners (Yes on a Tuesday! Take note, other restauranteurs of Horncastle) and the ambiance was convivial. The selection of beers behind the bar was good and the two pints I drank were tasty and well kept. I was presented with two bar menus, a separate burger menu and shown a fish menu and a steak menu on the wall. (I understand tapas is also available at weekends). Quite a choice! The bar menus largely consisted of what you might call traditional pub grub of the best kind. Within that massive choice, there must have been at least half a dozen dishes I was really tempted by but, eventually, I plumped for the cauliflower soup followed by the pork belly, mash, peas and apple gravy. Both courses were outstanding and extremely generous in size, especially the pork belly. My only disappointment was that I hadn't room in my distended belly to squeeze in a spotted dick for pudding! My bill, for such a large and excellent meal, was very modest. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at The Bull and would definitely eat and/or drink there again."
