"We have eaten at all the main places in rhayader and the crown is easily hands down the best. Amazing , friendly and welcoming staff who seem genuinely pleased to have you there and the food..... well the food is incredible. The best pub grub...we've ever had. We had the salmon and the leg of lamb, both cooked to perfection, very flavoursome and the portions are generous, just the right amount. . The mash was gorgeous and the vegetables, very fresh and varied. We really could not fault it at all, it was flawless. I always put sauce on every meal that I have but not at the crown ,its not needed, as it's so tasty "

Just arrived for our booking of a table for at to find The Crown closed! No message on the door. Just all closed up with no notification.

It is an absolute farce that this place is only rated on average on TripAdvisor. Food was amazing. Atmosphere was great. Ale was lovely. Would come again next time we are in the area. Speisekarte ansehen

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Extensive menu so spoilt for choice. The feathered steak was beautifully cooked and excellent value for money, as was the lamb pie. Friendly staff and good service added to our enjoyment. Will certainly visit again.

Enjoyed a lovely evening at The Crown last night the staff were friendly and helpful despite being obviously very busy, the food was delicious and great value and it has a lovely cosy and homely feel to the place. Great to see Welsh Lamb...and Welsh Beef on the menu also. Keep up the good work and we will be back!

We just called in hoping for a table, they were so welcoming and the menu had so much excellent choice. I had the Welsh Lamb Pie so tasty, and now highly recommended., but so was the large piece of salmon my friend had ..both excellent meals. Group of including kids absolutely superb service, very friendly and attentive staff. Very quickly sorted a table out to accommodate group, drinks service quick. Then onto the food, ordered a variety of mains all of which were brilliant particularly the lamb...shank. Sticky toffee pudding for dessert was also a hit, kids loved the food too and the general vibe was enjoyed by all. Seemed the busiest place in Rhayader by the time we left!

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Great choices on the menu we went two nights running it was so good. The LAmb pie WAS STAGGERINGLY GOOD, the fish pie was very good, the battered cod was excellent and the veggie roast was tremendous we...liked it all. Portions are seriously GENEROUS, so probably little need for starters, or perhaps even puds??? Good choice of local beers, esp Rev James, but try some others too. Obviously popular with locals and regulars ...
