What a lovely place to stay with great hosts peaceful and well appointed with an extremely large but delicious breakfast

Fantastic stay with superb hospitality from owner. Great old atmospheric building and room all well equipped and neat. Very nice breakfast.Will return.

Stopped here for the night in our motorhome with electric hook up for just £20 for the night . Went inside for Sunday lunch. It was amazing and great value for money. The deserts are heavenly . Great stop off if travelling. Speisekarte ansehen

Nice hotel/pub ,room a decent size and comfortable. Owners only been there for 2 months so still settling in. Breakfast was good nice to have a pot of coffee as well as tea,all cooked to order. The landlord was very friendly not a bad place to stay on the whole.

What a hidden gem. We held our Peaky Blinder Netball Party l, with over 30+ people couldn't have been made more welcome! The fast service, the friendly atmosphere make this pub have an enviable reputation seldom seen. Thankyou everyone for your hospitality!! Booking the next event!!!

Just visited for the first time since under new management . Sunday lunch was very nice. Homemade Pumpkin soup, roast pork with proper crackling, crispy roasties and wine gravy. Sticky toffee pudding/ chocolate mousse to finish. We will be back. Good friendly service. Give it a go. A proper local pub. Speisekarte ansehen

We had a sunday roast here yesterday 23july 20 17. ..staff very friendly and accommodating...food was delicious. ...meat was tender and all fresh veg with excellent cauliflower cheese. Plenty of meat and veg and tasty gravy...With homemade Yorkshire. Presentation excellent.... recommend this Sunday roast 5*

I met an awesome old friend at the Duke at the end of July. The service was very unfriendly and the atmosphere cold. We had 2 ploughmans. The lettuce was limp and yellow and generally a very poor meal. I'd heard it was good there and felt embarrassed to have suggested we eat there. I'm sure we were overcharged but just wanted to leave as it had been a bad experience.

We visited the Duke for lunch on Sunday there were seven of us. The food was excellent and could not be faulted. Service was great to such a change to see a family working together happily and enjoying what they do. I have been to other restaurants locally but they all though more expensive do not compare to the Duke. So if your looking for great food and atmosphere The Duke is the place to visit.
