Located on the harbour at Amble. We ate super fresh fish looking at the boats that had caught and landed it. Dining in a cosy garden shed like structure seating for six. Comfortably heated. We had a wonderful lunch on a Saturday in October, bringing together three generations of our family. As Grandma put it, "We've never had a bad meal at The Fish Shack." The food was exceptional, and the service was friendly and dependable. They also did an excellent job accommodating a family member on crutches. I highly, highly recommend this place. If you want seafood, this is the place to go. Fantastic food, great service, and on the harbour side. We asked if we could book a taxi to get back to our hotel, that was just out of town. I saw this restaurant on the Hairy bikers and was immediately needing to go! My partner had the mackerel pâté and I had scallops and black pudding with a carrot puree to start. We both had langoustines with chips for our main. I had a local beer too that was delicious. All the food was amazing, simply cooked to perfection. My visit to the Fish Shack was the highlight of my day: a charming little restaurant with delicious, fresh seafood. I started with the amble langoustine in a flavorful broth (it was so meaty!) and followed it up with grilled sea bass, a house salad, and some of the best chips I’ve had in a long time (I’m dying to find out what type of potatoes they used). It was a great experience, and the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend making a reservation. Even Harrison Ford is a fan of this place!

Popped in just for a nice hot coffee but have visited many times. Great place in Amble. Stunning views. Warkworth Castle visible overlooking the river. Outside seating area too. What's not to like about the Fish Shack. You pay a little more than average but that comes with the location and stunning view. Parking: There are 2 car parks very close by. Currently the one next to the customs house was 50p per hour.
