The George - Speisekarte

Breakfast wraps bland, bacon overcooked and all our table orders came out at different times part of meal was forgotten so everything else went cold while we waited for it. Friendly staff and clean toilets also rather dusty bottles over the top shelf behind the bar

Not sure what people are complaining about in the reviews this is a pub, that serves food, not a restaurant, there are no 'waiters '! Honestly, great food, never had a bad dish, great staff George and Laney in particular been going here since it opened and have been to some dodgy Wetherspoons, but this isn 't one!!

The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and the service was excellent. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all, and the prices were very reasonable. I will definitely be coming back! A special shoutout to the young woman working upstairs with multiple walkie talkies on her belt. She was kind, friendly, and cheerful - a delightful person! Speisekarte ansehen

Or order for 4) consisted of 3 good dishes and one that was very poor . Thee Gourmet 8oz Sirloin steak was 30% gristle. It was a shame as the person who ordered it it was their birthday . Hopefully the kitchen noticed the gristle returning on the plate and made a note of it because it wasn't cheap compared to other items on the menu. £14.54).

I ordered from my phone and there was a good variety of dinner options. The pizza for one person arrived first and was hot, but the rest of the meals came when we were almost finished. The food was good but not very warm. The scampi was okay, but the chips and garden peas were barely warm. The curry rice dishes were hot. It was not ideal to serve one person's meal at a different time, which slightly spoiled the evening.

The Manager is so rude every time we go in this place, absolutely disgusting behaviour from him. He’s rudeness has happened on more than one occasion and when we were in the pub other people sat next to us said he is a nasty man and the pub has completely gone down hill. Unfortunately it is also rubbing of on his staff who have to make an effort to serve you! Been going there many years and not once had to complain… absolutely disgusting behaviour from the bar manager Mario and will not be coming back any time soon. I ordered chicken and chips at the restaurant, but the chicken came out slimy and undercooked. No one checked on our table until I got the attention of a waiter and informed him about the issue. I even mentioned that I felt sick from the food. The waiter took the dish away, but 5 minutes later a barman came over and defended the dish by saying that's how they cook it. I expressed my dissatisfaction again, but he walked away without addressing the issue. No one else came back, so I went to the kitchen and requested to speak to the manager. Came from Reading to Staines to visit some good friends. Initially weren’t to enthusiastic to go to a Wetherspoon as we tried other Wetherspoons before and didn’t really like it. We sat on the top bar and ordered food and drinks and Marco served us (I think he was the manager) and was very polite and his service was really good, came to check on our food a couple times and on the desserts, I think he might have sensed there was a “special” occasion for us. Visited this pub this evening and the service was one of the worst I have ever received. Young, brown haired girl on shift spoke to myself and my family horrendously, so rude and had the worst attitude. We were told we had to leave by 9 due to their license, although this has never been the case on any of our previous visits. Either make this clearer to your staff as there’s a huge lack of knowledge on this, or make it clearer before I give you my money.
