What a lovely place. The staff were very polite and helpful without being obtrusive. Every course was a delight. I particularly enjoyed the cured salmon. My fellow diner adored the chocolate mousse.

Staff are fabulous. Food is just ok. I received a beer that was not the same as my previous drink. It was not the best. They have only just taken over, and renamed, the Hungry duck. I hope they sort things out. 4 stars cos the staff are fab Speisekarte ansehen

Absolutely fantastic! Joe made us feel like we were all equal in the restaurant. He was truly amazing! The steak was cooked perfectly, no seasoning needed. The atmosphere was relaxed, the food was delicious, and the service was exceptional. Thank you.

We came to The Hungry Duck for a Sunday Roast and it did not disappoint! Food was delicious and cooked perfectly. We had the sourdough for starter which was lovely and the Rhubarb dessert was also great. The interiors decor is lovely and the staff are very attentive and friendly too.

Today was my first visit to this restaurant for my mother's birthday, and I cannot praise it enough. As a vegetarian, I often struggle to find something appealing on the menu, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that this restaurant exceeded my expectations. food and personal were beautiful. small, uriger place in beautiful city, a real hidden gem. try the latest addition to their wine menu, a beautiful English white, definitely recommend. the dining room times are a little funny, so call in advance when the first time. think they open to dinner at 17 o'clock and stop serving at 19:45 o'clock. parking on the main street or, there is a parking space on a small next street directly opposite the restaurant.

I ordered the locally sourced wood pigeon with black pudding and beetroot, which was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The red wine sauce and rhubarb coulis complemented the dish well. My dining companion, Sue, opted for the mushroom risotto, which was rich and creamy with a hint of salt. For the main course, I had the mackerel with spinach-mash potatoes and tenderstem broccoli, topped with goat cheese. The dish was light yet flavorful. Sue went for the baked Camembert and Cheshire cheesecake, which she thoroughly enjoyed. We were tempted by the tempting selection of desserts, but we were too full to indulge. Perhaps we'll save some room for dessert on our next visit.

I wasn't sure if I was to write this review, but I must be completely honest. we used to visit (pre covid) here for the Sunday menu and we have always assumed that it was not only an excellent value for money, but also decent portion sizes. we decided to book here a special birthday meal for three people on Saturday night. Of course, we expected the a la carte menu to be more expensive, but I did not expect that the size of the portion to be affected. the food was beautiful from beginning to end. only beautiful, wasn't worn by him. my only grip is the tiny portion size compared to the money they charge, and then on a service fee above (not something they expect in ramsbottom). the drinks are...
