"This was my first meal here with my friend since lockdown; we had been there many times beforehand for birthdays and other celebrations too. I was a little disappointed with the food and the inconsistency of the waiting staff... Some so attentive and others who were not so kind. The only waitress was adorable and made up for some of the less friendly waiters. The food was mediocre and the general atmosphere was not as welcoming as it has been in the past. To be fair, they heard me say quite loudly that it was my friend's birthday and they popped a couple of flaming candles on our table with a song... Which is standard fare for this place too. A pretty standard experience."

"Loved everything about this pub, staff were amazing (Ashley our server was brilliant) to match the food, we drove down from Aberdeen back to Wales and popped in for a bite to eat (what a great find). Staff were so lovely they allowed us to stay in the carpark in our motorhome overnight (allowing us to have a few bevvies after a long day driving), I cannot recommend this pub highly enough, so if your passing definitely call in, we’ll worth it and will be coming back when in the area"

Leider teilten wir uns eine Rindfleischplatte, auf der das Fleisch sehr fett und die Kartoffeln trocken waren, als ob sie schon eine Weile her wären. Abgesehen davon war es eine schöne Erfahrung, aber ich werde wegen der Fleischqualität nicht zurückkehren. Wissen Sie nicht, ob wir gerade eine schlechte Charge bekommen haben? Yorkshires und der Geschmack des restlichen Essens waren atemberaubend"

"Just really disgusted with Galu 8th Nov.. I ordered steak and chips, only got the steak, the chips belatedly...I complained and wasn 't charged. Great? No. Not great. Spontaneous visit with my wife, I ordered a ribeye steak, chips billed as coming with tomatoes and rocket. Steak arrived, no chips...surly waiter telling me 'the chips are coming '....no rocket, no tomatoes. Steak was barely warm, so I started to eat it...half gone, said surly waiter brings chips over (salad never arrived and I complained....steak and chips should come with chips at the same time...place was half empty, not like they were busy..zero empathy, zero apology....just simply 'ok so what do you want me to do then...you don 't have to pay ' very aggressive, very threatening (sub text being...just shut up , you don 't have to pay, so suck it up. I 'd much rather have paid and had steak,chips and salad at £30 as listed in the menu come as steak, chips and salad...not just a steak. Waiter was beyond rudeness....muttering away that I 'd complained and staring daggers at my wife from outside the kitchen...made her feel really uncomfortable. Disgraceful. So thanks Galu....we went on the hoof...my wife been battling serious illness for two years and we 'd dropped in having been in Kingston Hospital for three hours to cheer ourselves up.... and you gave us a really poor, unwelcoming, bad quality experience...So angry. Waiter should be in the Parking Warden business not hospitality service... unpleasant, rude little man. My advice? If you want to be treated by some miserable mid life grubby waiter as if he 's doing you a favour by letting you eat bad quality overpriced food in some underwhelming pad, then this is definitely the place for you. Enjoy..."

"Never heard a bad word said about this place and there's good reason why. I don't often dine out at this pricepoint but as is often the case, paying more means a better experience. Wonderfully attentive service and a nice environment (the only criticism I could level is that a light would turn on and then off on a maybe 10-15 minute cycle, like a very slow strobe light lol). The food was fantastic, had the Cypriot meatballs which were soft, tender and juicy, fillet steak which was cooked perfectly medium rare just as I requested and some divine ice cream/sorbet for dessert. I only drank Coke but my friend had cocktails which she thoroughly enjoyed. Would (and will) gladly visit again in future!"
