The Magic Roundabout

Just average, which was sad as we had high hopes , long wait for food, I was sat by the storage area and the hoover. My margatia was half full. My friends ceaser salad was swimming in the dressing you could even see the lettace. My husbands steak was good. Won't be going again unfortunately

My wife and I ordered poached egg and bacon on brown bread at this restaurant. Unfortunately, our order came with béarnaise sauce on top, which we did not request. When I brought this to the attention of the waiter, he gave me a dirty look and snatched our plates away. We ended up leaving the restaurant due to the very poor service.

A really lovely family meal out on Christmas eve eve. My family enjoyed all our meals, all were tasty, especially the burger. Steaks were cooked perfectly and the meals were good value. I suppose the only thing which would have been helpful would have been a dessert menu rather than trying to remember what the waitress said. Service was good, will be back again. Speisekarte ansehen

My husband and I both started with calamari, which was a bit pricey but we found the food to be worth it. My husband didn't enjoy his magic burger and left at least half of it, but he did like the chips. I tried the duck noodles, and although the presentation was not great, the duck was tasty and there was a generous portion. Some tables near us had complaints about missing items, slow service, and overcooked food.

My family and I came for an evening meal on the 1st September and all 7 of us were delighted with the food, drinks and service. 4 of us are vegetarian and we were spoilt for choice, so many yummy options which is a rareity. I had Mac and Cheese and it was to die for. We all really enjoyed our food. The meat eaters had a burger and fish and chips and the child menu was fab for our 10 year old. I love how quaint and quirky the restaurant is. The toilet may be an issue for anyone with mobility issues though. We could not fault the service- the waiter and waitress who served us were very friendly and attentive. Lovely experience, highly recommend

Been here before for breakfast and loved it. So suggested to my friends we go here again for breakfast. The waiter taking our order was very rude, my friend ordered 2 drinks for herself and he sighed and rolled his eyes! We then went and ordered the food. There was 6 of us and he didn’t write anything down about our order then when it came it was all wrong which I’m not surprised as it would be hard to memories 6 peoples orders. We told the waiter that bits of it were wrong or missing and he just sighed again. At this point we just ate and left quickly as we felt uncomfortable. The experience at this restaurant was pretty awful from start to finish. The food was disappointing, with the mussels and linguine both served in a thick, bland cream sauce with no seasoning. The linguine also came with cold, soggy garlic bread that was inedible. The pork loin tasted strongly of vinegar, and the sauce on the side was essentially a pot of apple cider vinegar. The fish and chips and hanging kebabs were decent, but we wish we had all ordered those instead. The wine we received was not what we ordered and was unpleasant, and the selections we wanted were out of stock. Service was slow and disinterested. Came here for breakfast at the recommendation of our holiday cottage owners. They were two staff down but trying to operate at full capacity. My advice would of been to close the upstairs, this would of meant turning people away but everyone who came would of had a good experience. As they were doing their best to operate at full capacity there were some service issues. Coffee came after we had finished our breakfast. We had to source our own knives as the server was rushed off his feet and prioritising other things. The wife asked for fried eggs but got scrambled (not the end of the world). Lovely breakfast and nice spot on the corner in Windermere. Very poor customer service. There is a sign saying ‘please wait to be seated’ and so we stood in the doorway for several minutes while the waitress avoided eye contact with us and was walking around the cafe. No hello or just a minute which would have been fine. There shouldn’t be a sign saying please wait if the waitress is not going to acknowledge people when they walk in. Baring in mind the cafe is tiny so we were blocking the full entrance and she most definitely knew we were there.
