The Malt House - Speisekarte

For starters my partner had the cucumber watermelon gazpacho which was a bit too weird tasting for me but my partner seemed to like it!

absolutely delicious! the foot distance from our hotel has made this even better! the service was nice, attentive, but not float. cocktails were delightful and the food was excellent! crab salat, fish and chips and the Hake-Special followed by the panna cotta could not be mistaken one! excellent!

the malt house is exactly what they would expect from a standard gastroub in 2015. there is nothing special about this place, and they can find similar places in whole london, but what it offers is good beer and other drinks, along with a perfectly acceptable gastropub menu in a pleasant environment they will not be blown away from anything in the malt house, but they also want to go away disappointed.

The Malt House is a Fulham pub now taken over by Claude Bosi of Hibiscus. The décor is simple but pleasant, with cream walls and turquoise banquette seating, wooden floor and no tablecloths. The head chef is Marcus McGuinness, formerly head chef of Hibiscus, who had worked at Hibiscus when it was in Ludlow, and before that at Champignon Sauvage and 5 North Street. They have provided free wi-fi for diners, a nice touch.

The Malt House is a pub with rooms in Fulham Broadway. It is the sister pub to the very popular Fox Grapes in Wimbledon which is owned by the Michelin starred chef Claude Bosi his brother Cedric. Cedric manages the place as Claude spends most his time cooking at his two star restaurant Hibiscus. As the Fox Grapes has proved so successful, they opened the Malt House in Fulham at the beginning of the year and the chef is former Hibiscus Head Chef Marcus McGuinness.

The recent refurbishment of the Malt House into gastro-pub and rooms, by Michelin star chef Claude Bosi is one of a whole series in the area. And the jury is out as to whether this one will sink or swim. For a start, we do have a number of excellent places to eat already – not least the Harwood Arms less than 500 yards away. Although private housing is expensive, this is a very mixed area and not all Fulham residents welcome another gastro-pub. There's surprisingly few pubs in the capital that serve really good food. In pure number terms, there are over 7,000 pubs in London yet only The Harwood Arms has a star. It does mean that finding a pub that will reliably serve up a good meal is rare, and when found, very much to be welcomed, which makes The Malt House in Fulham an absolute keeper.
