"I was pleased to find out they had soup, although I was initially disappointed that it was vegetable soup. However, the soup was actually very good. It came with delicious rye bread and white baguette, nice unsalted butter, and was thick and flavorful with big chunks of broccoli and cauliflower, topped with a drizzle of herby garlicky oil. Everyone around me seemed to enjoy their meals as well, with the only complaint being that there was too much food! The only downside was that the lady behind the bar seemed a bit abrupt and unfriendly, although she was efficient and prompt. This may not be the best choice for vegans or vegetarians, or for those expecting trendy ingredients on the menu or a hipster server. However, if you appreciate well-done old-fashioned fare, I recommend giving this place a try. You don't have to be old to enjoy classic dishes!"

Excellent pub. Great, home cooked food and wonderful, friendly service. Couldn’t fault it! The food was freshly cooked and utterly delicious. Would definitely return if in this area again.

As ever, this jewel in the Wiltshire countryside didn’t disappoint. The Venison stew was amazing, also the atmosphere and the staff were lovely. Good choice of beer and wine coupled with an open fire. Ideal!

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Service was excellent despite the pub being very busy. And the food was delicious though in my opinion the portions were too large! I had a burger and it was presented with a stack of onion rings which made it really tall. Probably ate around a third of the portion and that was more than enough. The chips were wonderful.

Today we visited the New Inn to have lunch with our niece and her family. Coming from South Gloucestershire, we are used to having some fantastic pubs in our area, but the New Inn exceeded our expectations! From the warm welcome when we arrived, to being promptly seated at our table, to the quick service for our drinks and food orders, to the friendly staff, everything was perfect! The food was also outstanding, with generous portions that were so delicious we almost finished everything on our plates. Overall, a fantastic little pub that we highly recommend.

We were visiting the area and saw this pub on google maps with a 4.9 rating so we stopped for Lunch. Have to say we don’t agree with 4.9, totally a 5! Really lovely pub, helpful friendly staff, great atmosphere and fantastic food. Good size meals meant it was hard work forcing down the Eaton Mess and Ginger cheesecake after!! Spoke with the owner who told us he also own a local farm and supplies the restaurant where his son is the chef. Looks like a great partnership in our view as the meals we had were delicious. Thoroughly recommend and if we’re in the area again we will be stopping at the New Inn again.

During our recent stay in Lower Westwood, we dined at The New Inn twice. The Sunday lunch was absolutely delicious. Two members of our group ordered the belly pork, one had beef, and another chose the chicken - all dishes were very tasty. We returned for the evening meal and were impressed by the wide selection of options, including venison pie, liver and onions, steak, and goat's cheese with new potatoes and vegetables. Once again, everything was superb, including the desserts. The service was excellent and we felt very welcomed. We will definitely come back when we are in the area. You will not be disappointed if you have the chance to visit The New Inn.

We started with shared garlic pizza bread. Neither of us enjoyed it. My wife had liver and bacon. The liver was overcooked and over seasoned. The presentation was poor. I had a burger. The burger was served as a huge stack topped with onion rings. I had to ask for a side plate to dismantle the fashionable but impractical creation as the meal was served on a board barely big enough for the meal. The onion rings contained precious little onion but some very light batter which disintegrated when trying to eat them. The burger was very very well done, dry and unpleasant. The chips were absolutely superb. I asked for ketchup, which was served in an unmarked squeeze bottle and was not the best qua...

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."

"We had a tremendously good lunch here today-the food was quite delicious, the staff were very friendly and helpful-I’d say it’s probably one of the best lunches I’ve had in quite some time….so to give you a clue we both had the pork-this sounded really lovely and we were not disappointed-pork belly, tenderloin,a faggot and a ham hock croquet with mashed potato and roasted cauliflower with a delicious jus and a slice of pickled apple( which I ate immediately with a piece of pork and when the waiter came to ask how our lunch was I asked if he could possibly get me another piece-which he did For dessert we shared the passion fruit crème brûlée which came with a passion fruit sorbet and some chocolate soil…..the focaccia we had at the start of the meal was superb and the coffee was also excellent -we do enjoy both cooking and eating-one of life’s pleasures and it’s abundantly clear the chef absolutely loves food too-a great display of cooking books from the greats sort of got me thinking it would be a good lunch…….also worth noting the drinks menu-some lovely wines, soft drinks and cocktails both alcoholic and non alcoholic. I finished off with a mocha which was hot chocolatey but not too sweet. Bradford on Avon is most definitely worth a visit and I’d say you would be foolish to miss out on a great experience if you didn’t also pop in to the bunch of grapes for some sustenance while there… Thanks for lunch and as Arnie says “ we’ll be back”….."
