"We are living in strange times and need to make allowances but on a wet and windy Friday evening leaving the main door permanently open made the lounge pretty cold and uninviting. The food was fine and the staff were very friendly and helpful but we were disappointed when a group of four people were sat on the next table to us. I doubt this qualified for the correct social distancing and we were lucky we were close to finishing our meal so we could pay the bill and leave. It may be fine for local trade but not for tourists in my opinion."

"Wow, the pub has been amazingly well renovated. Such a huge improvement!. Came with the family and absolutely loved the Don Burgers! Didn't need to eat for the rest of the day. Loved the interior decor, it's so well done. Would be ideal for cycle groups too as lots of space for bikes to be kept out the back. Would also be good for a classic car or motorbike meet. Keep up the good work and standards and we will definitely be back! Update, came back in April 2023 and still really good. Accommodated nine starving cyclists and managed to fit us in for a quick coffee and cake! Thanks very much!"

"Firstly, if you haven’t visited here, it’s a must. I was taken here for one of their cheaply priced lunch meals a couple of years ago, and I was floored at the high quality of the food for such a great price and quite possibly the most amazing creme brûlée I’ve ever tasted (I always order one ahead of my visit now). We have been back here several times since and the food really is outstanding, the service and staff is fantastic. Went there for Mother’s Day and had a fantastic meal and desert and was given a beautiful pit plant. Back there again for my birthday in 2 weeks. And I can not wait. Jade and Jay."

"We visited here with our 4 dogs (which are well behaved and sit under the table) for Sunday lunch. The atmosphere is lovely and it gives a really welcoming good feel. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful, the dog biscuits and water area is a great touch. The roast dinner was outstanding, we eat out a lot so we do say we’re possibly ‘food snobs’ but we were really impressed by this place! It gets the ‘best roast’ we’ve had. The vegetables, potatoes, meat was all delicious. We had pudding after, treacle sponge and brownie both were really good! Can’t wait to visit again.. highly recommend!"

"we had a groupon 2 cursed with a glass of wine. we chose to pay the £18.95 8oz sirloin steak with £3 extra. everything on the plate came from a freezer and the steak was not attractive to look or taste. the house wine was also very poor. the management did not care that we were unhappy and only advised if we wanted another drink that we had to pay extra. the young staff was very helpful, but could only report the instruction of the management. we will certainly not go back there and I can confidently say that in 10 years there are the worst meal and hospitable, from the administration that we have met."
