"A lovely little find (and indeed it is a find you have to wander down Bashful Alley, which is well named because it likes to keep itself secret: look next to the Animalcare Shop in Market Street). The premises are quaint from the outside but comparatively modern on the inside. The menu is relatively well priced and extensive, not adventurous, but good basic food. The atmosphere was welcoming and smiley (very quiet on the day I was there) and the interior quite dimly lit, adding to the atmosphere. I ordered an all day breakfast and cafetiere of coffee and they were served in no time and very tasty! I will definitely search out this place next time I make a trip to Lancaster."

Most enjoyable breakfast smoked salmon scrambled eggs with the added bonus of loose leaf tea . Difficult to rate the atmosphere when it’s so quiet.

As a party of six we stumbled upon this lovely place for lunch. What a friendly welcome and delicious food. If we return to Lancaster we will definitely return.

The food is amazing, my son always gets cheese on toast as it comes with a lovely fruit platter. Great hygiene. The staff are so kind friendly. We would leave 10 stars!

I can't recommend this family run cafe enough. The food is always very well presented, hot delicious and the cakes are definitely worth ruining your diet for. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Definitely the nicest cafe in Lancaster.

Fantastic food and great service, we stopped for lunch at the Old Bell whilst visiting Lancaster on our holiday. There was a really good choice of food, our food was hot and very tasty and good value, we will definitely eat here again when we are in the city.

We love The Old Bell and have been coming here for years. The food is tasty and cooked to order and the cakes and coffee are delicious all at sensible prices. A fantastic children’s menu and the milkshakes are a particular hit with my daughter. A true hidden gem in Lancaster.

Honestly The Best Caffe I’ve Ever Been To… I’ll Probably Keep Saying That Until Something Is Better But I Heard This Was One Of The Best Rated Cafes In Lancaster And It Certainly Deserves It. Staff Was Superb And My All Day Breakfast Might The Best I’ve Had Definitely Will Be Coming Back
