Superb as usual. We went with friends for lunch when we chose from the fixed price menu. Really good value for really good food.

What a lovely restaurant, from the time we walked in we couldn’t fault them. The staff were great, the food excellent, will definitely return!

Lovely place, nice food, good service was just unfortunately very quiet. Was a Thursday night so should be a bit livelier at the weekend. However if you want a very quiet atmosphere...

The meal was enjoyable, I would have preferred my steak with an option of sauces. My husband was a bit thrown off screw with the scallops being served with their coral, it’s a marmite issue. Other than that the meal was fine. Service was great. We will return. It’s a lovely place to eat, It’s history is worth looking up. As a smaller restaurant they have not tried to crowd as many tables in as possible, it’s a great place for a relaxing meal.

Three ladies who love to lunch visited for the first time, and were not disappointed. Have told several people how good the food was. Had three courses, bottle of wine between us and coffee and mints to follow, cost including optional service (service was excellent) came to £42 a head. Not our cheapest lunch out ever, but well worth it for the quality of the food. Will definitely return for an evening visit next time the do Steak Nights on Wednesday, which look really good value.
