The Oxton Courtyard

Cocktails great , pity the staff weren't!! Rude , and served regulars before we got served , so if your a regular great if not your overlooked and it seemed it was an effort to serve you when they eventually did !!!

Where to begin… I booked me and my Mum in for Mother’s Day Sunday dinner. We sat down at 4pm, the bar staff brought over our cocktails which were (to be fair) gorgeous and reasonably priced (hence why I have scored a 1 star).

Went on a tuesday evening after 5pm and got 40% off Fantastic value. My sister in-law treated me to a birthday meal and was that impressed, has already said she will have hers there too. The food was Hot, Tasty and fast arriving. Couldn't fault staff and service. Loved it. Speisekarte ansehen

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch here. We took my husbands 93 year old mum for her birthday lunch. The staff were really attentive and brought out a birthday pud for her which made her feel really special. The food was really tasty and cooked well and the presentation beautiful.

This is by far the worst restaurant i have ever visited. The waiting staff were fantastic and very apologetic. Waited an hour for a roast dinner that was not edible. Food had clearly been reheated so the wait is very strange. Manager Tracy was absolutely pathetic and for the life of me do not understand how she is a manager. The lack of accountability and ownership was scary. I would advise anyone to avoid this restaurant at all costs.

Visited The Courtyard for the first time today with my sister and our families for a Mothers Day lunch. We had to wait almost an hour for our food but this was to be expected on such a busy day but once it arrived it was amazing. Everything was delicious and so tasty. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Can't believe we have never been here before. We've already booked again for next Friday for a girls night out so that we can try the cocktails. Speisekarte ansehen

Travelled up from Derbyshire (2 hour drive) to meet family here for a Mother’s Day Sunday lunch. Table was booked for 1:30, we arrived and ordered. The waitress arrived at the table and plonked a dish of nachos down told us they were for Mother’s Day. At 3pm we were still waiting for food. When we complained we were told the nachos were given to us because there was a delay and we’d allegedly been told that... finally when the food arrived my daughter’s soup had been under a hot light for so long that when she picked up the spoon she burnt her finger.

After waiting well over an hour for food, in an only 1/2 full restaurant, we were greeted by an abrupt, rude and clearly incompetent manager. When we complained about the time we waited there was no apology, when the food finally came it was plonked on the table, no one returned to see if everything was ok, the youngest of our party (19 months old) had to wait an extra 10 minutes for her meal even though it was obvious she was distressed and very hungry. While I understand that restaurants get busy, maybe short staffed, things go wrong in the kitchen but the manner in which they deal with these scenarios says a lot about them. Oh and by not filling in an accident form when my 5 yo niece burn...

I booked The Courtyard for a Valentine's weekend meal for my wife and I. We had a nice cocktail in the bar first then went to our table. The bar area was very full and I did realise that being Saturday night it would be bustling, but our table was right next to groups of loud lads all trying to shout over the music, which was also quite loud! We had a speaker right over our table and we could not hear ourselves think! The waitress even said it was too loud and she did move us to a table near the back.
