"I was really disappointed as I booked the Cornerhouse to take work colleagues out that had been visiting from the US, that had particular dietary requirements. In the past I have found the extensive menu to be very good and the dining room to be lovely. But on this occasion when I arrived I was told that the kitchen was being refurbished and so we had a limited menu and that the dining room was closed so we had to sit in the main bar area, which was noisy and full of punters. The limited food option was very disappointing as we had already selected what we wanted to eat in advance from the menu on the website (where there was no mention of the refurbishment) and when what we did order arrived it was under cooked and cold. We did not stay long and it was not somewhere that my colleagues will want to return to. Had there been any advance contact (as the restaurant had my details) it could have really helped to improve the situation."

This restaurant is a wonderful spot with a welcoming staff, especially Cally the manager who was attentive, charming, and a great host.

Decent food. Our table was booked for 6.45 . There was no bass left , one chicken dish wasn’t there, also no rib eye steak left. Not the waiters fault, but a bit disappointed.

We were shown to an upstairs table and it was near the cooking area. Very hot. There was also a prosecco party there that was understandably very noisy. Service was very slow (it was busy and not enough staff) and food when it came was good but it arrived in dribs and drabs so we were not able to eat at the same time.

just don't go. it was so terrible that we went out and went to other places absolutely a bite food and that was just the appetizers. we all sent them back and waited for an hour to arrive! none of them was as described, they were all just sloppy cold scrap! seriously, do not book on the road to jamies italiener, but as we did!

The server we had at the restaurant did not seem knowledgeable about food restrictions, which became evident when I discovered the gluten-free sauce he recommended was not actually gluten-free. As a result, I felt unwell the next day. Thankfully, no one at our table with food allergies got sick. Despite this issue, the food was delicious and we were pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere of the popular pub.

First of all they didn't have our booking even though I had a text to confirm we were still going the day before our booking. They did manage to sit us. The food was vastly over priced. Two of us had the burger, the bun was far too big for the burger and you could count the number of skinny chips we had. Then before we had finished deserts they were asking to vacate the table. To top in all the bill was wrong, it contained more drinks than we had.
