We had a party of 5 for Christmas dinner at this restaurant! The staff was lovely, the atmosphere was nice, and the dinner was fantastic! I would definitely recommend this place.

this place is so amazingly clean and eating was wonderful, the staff was really nice. not in our neck of the forest, otherwise we would be this place to our place for certain. well worth a try if they are in the opposite

First visited last September, excellent meal and service and therefore looked forward to a return visit today. Didn’t disappoint. Food once again excellent, very well presented and staff very friendly and efficient. Only disappointment was that portions so plentiful, didn’t have room for a pudding !! Next time …..

Had a wonderful meal with my niece and her partner at this restaurant. It had been a while since my last visit, and I noticed that the establishment has changed ownership several times in recent years. I am happy to report that the current landlord, who has been there for 8 months, is doing a great job. I highly recommend this place for a midweek pub meal. Speisekarte ansehen

We booked a table in advance for 4 adults and brought 2 dogs with us, and on arrival Lisa and her team made us feel very welcome. After giving us a table, the dogs were given a bowl of water and a few little treats which was very thoughtful, and we then enjoyed a fabulous dinner. We had 2 bistro steaks (one of the best steaks we’ve ever had), the Indian curry served on a large naan bread (delicious), and the gammon (beautifully cooked and served). The puddings were sheer heaven. We were on a visit from mid Wales and if we return to the area we will most definitely return the The Piper a real find!

I visited this pub for lunch and had previously enjoyed lovely meals there, especially the Sunday lunches with large portions that were cooked well. However, when I visited on Sunday, October 1st, 2023, the portions were very small and one dish was severely overcooked, appearing to have been microwaved. There was no gravy as it had dried up on the plate and there were no vegetables. One dish did not even have roast, while two others did, with one being a combination of chicken and beef, but the portions were extremely small. Our middle son and his family turned up unexpectedly this Sunday and so we decided to go out locally for Sunday lunch. Being such short notice all our usual haunts were fully booked and we didn’t want to go into Chester itself. The only place we could find locally for a traditional Sunday roast was the Piper. Our past experience of the Piper as a pub rather than a restaurant over the last 40 years we have lived in the area was not good. However we’ve noticed it’s been refurbished relatively recently so we decide to risk it. Glad we did.
