just finished an excellent pub lunch and a nice ale, with wonderful service. Would heartily recommend. We had steak pie and Sweet potato with Kale pie neither disappointed. if we ever pass this way again we will stay for longer.

Booked online and table was ready on arrival. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was excellent, good children's portion and lots of choice for all of us. Good special offers each night it was curry night and one of us really enjoyed theirs. Will be back when next in the lakes.

arrived for lunch after walking from Windermere, warm welcome, open fire and fantastic menu. Lunch two course menu was great value. Choices from the main list also superb. What a beautiful pub and hotel with the friendliest hospitality. The rooms are cosy, comfy and superclean with everything you need. The food was home cooked and very generous and just what you need after a day of walking. It is off the beaten track with some stunning walks from the pub. The pub is genuinely dog friendly and mine were spoilt with treats. I’ve left feeling like i’ve had a luxury holiday. I’m definitely going back.

We 've stayed here several times now and have found it to be excellent value and very comfortable on every occasion. The hosts fall over themselves to make you welcome, not in the corporate have you come far today style, but genuine friendly warm greetings and chit chat. The rooms are lovely, clean and warm with little snacks to greet you. The food is delicious and the building is fabulous, full of history and quirky features. This has become our go too destination when in the lakes.

We have been going to the Queen s Head for many years the menu and food used to be excellent. However since the fire in June 2014 and change in management the food and menu has deteriorated and is now overpriced and is basically just pub food of very mediocre standard . When booking on line we always get a very uncomfortable table in a poor position . We were told at our last visit that we would need to book 4 months ahead to obtain a table in the bar area !! We shall certainly not be returning and feel sad that what used to be a lovely place is now very disappointing . Speisekarte ansehen

The Queens Head is a pleasant pub and hotel with clean rooms and ample parking. The evening meal was average and overpriced, with a dry main dish and a disappointing apple crumble. The serving staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel is quiet and dog-friendly, with dogs in every room but no barking. The bar and restaurant also cater to dogs. However, there were strange occurrences in the night, with both guests experiencing the sensation of someone walking around their room. Despite not believing in ghosts, they felt convinced that the place was haunted and made a quick exit in the morning after a lackluster breakfast.

Visited the Queens Head when staying nearby with family. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Open fire and modern/ traditional decor. Drinks excellent. Good excellent. Good exceptional. Lots of attention to detail and reasonably priced. It was curry night and we thoroughly enjoyed the homemade food. Wife had the burger which was the best for a long time. Pizza for the children. Best pin in the area. Can’t wait to visit again in summer. Weather wasn’t the best but I believe the Mountain View’s are beautiful in the summertime. Owners were visible and happy to talk about the pub and local area. Thank you Mark and Sam. You’re doing a great job!

Food disappointing. Was looking forward to a meal after reading all the good reviews but was left feeling disappointed. The burger ordered was good, the gammon mediocre (very fatty) but the Thai curry was really terrible and pretty much inedible. It tasted nothing like a Thai curry, no Thai flavours, no coconut milk, and had strange rectangular pieces of chicken. I did tell the waiter my thoughts and he said he would tell the chef but the chef said this was just how it was made! They did take 10% off the bill which was something. The service was also very slow, we had been there an hour before we received our food and drinks very expensive too. I would not return or recommend unfortunately. Speisekarte ansehen
