"this is a pretty little restaurant with some covered tables from the back and more in the garden for good weather. I was booked alone and short-term, so I got the last table under the cover, but that wasn't as good as in the main restaurant. the personal is very friendly and responsive. so were the other customers, some of which were clearly regular! it has a really warm and relaxed atmosphere. I ordered the meatball star and a pizza that both were delicious, as dessert. the three courses and a glass of wine came to £34, which is very good for a good quality eating and atmosphere."

"We came here after a walk in peaks, however after sitting down we had to move as another group came over and their dog lunged and was aggressive to our dog who had been sat there. We moved to another table which was on a slant, as it was the only one available. After getting our drinks and ordering food we sat back down. However within moments, both of our soft drinks had toppled over coating one of us completely. A waitress saw this, however did not offer any assistance (providing a cloth or towels) but she did say she would replace our drinks. However the bar man, Steve, came to us and told us he would not replace our drinks. He told us that they were not responsible for our drinks and we pointed out that we were sat at their table which they had placed on the slant, with no coasters or anything to prevent them falling. Whilst I can somewhat understand, Steve was incredibly hostile and rude. Offered no apology and was unflinching on his position. In the end we decided to leave, not because they would not replace our drinks, but because of the way we were spoken to. I asked if Steve was the owner or manager and was advised he was not, so I'm not sure where he got the gall to be so rude to customers. The poor waitresses clearly looked uncomfortable. If Steve had apologised said that this had happened before but unfortunately he wasn't able to replace we would have somewhat understood. However Steve was rude, extremely hostile and aggressive as if we had walked in and demanded free drinks. We had our food refunded and left. If the owners or management care about customer service I would suggest considering whether Steve is the type of person who should be customer facing. We had spent £40 on food that they had to refund, which feels like it's counter productive considering to replace two post mix drinks would cost the venue at most 50p."

"brilliant small square with beautiful seating outside. around 1330 we advised, as we hoped, to avoid the lunch break (castleton is a busy city this time of the year). top notch little space, decent prices. also nice to see the cook venture to get the ingredients for our lunch, and tell us that the food is freshly cooked and ordered. my pastrami sandwich was delicious. other half had a sweet kartoffel with halloumi with some other bits and boobs that again, was delicious. all the employees were great, nothing was too disturbing. highly recommended!"

"We visited Losehill House for the morning spa package, which included use of the pool facilities, a treatment, a hot drink and a two course lunch in the restaurant.I am happy to say that the experience was great, especially the lunch which we were very impressed with!The pool is very small, but access seemed to be managed well to limit numbers using the facility and we had it to ourselves for half of our allotted slot. The outdoor hot tub was comfy and warm. The steam room was very small, but a great level of steam and nicely scented.The changing rooms were small making it difficult to accommodate more than 2 people which there were at change over times.The building itself is very beautifully and traditionally decorated with a lovely outlook over to the fields and hills.Our spa treatments were great and very relaxing.Lunch was delicious, meticulously presented and served professionally. We would love to visit again for their midweek lunch.All in all a good value experience that was thoroughly enjoyed."

"Polite service, with a menu and very fast. was ruined as my eating was not very hot, then the table back sat with very wet dogs due to the weather. I had to move my coat from my chair because he didn't have very pleasant melted when one of the not so small dogs went back and forth. I think it's great that they would welcome pets, but if they don't have one, it's not nice to sit next to someone with 3. I wish I had not ordered a sweet one because the smell was not very pleasant and ruined the meal."
